Two skill points each time you level up with 1.06?

I apologize in advance if the question have been answered already.

I downloaded patch 1.06 today and started a new campaign. When I killed the spiders in the beginning my heroes got two skillpoints each, but after a few minutes I only got one. I tried restart the game but I only got one again. Was the two points/level a bug and shouldn't happen or is it supposed to be two points and there is a bug that don't let me get them?

Should just have been the one, no chance they jumped straight to level 3 though? A pack of spiders have a bit higher CR then the sovereign early game and would be good exp.

It is, but it's a little wierd. If I attack the little spider and the large one I raise to lv 2, but if I get attacked by the small spider I get to lv 3 before I attack the large one. Seems you get much more experience if you are attacked. Is it supposed to be like that or is it a bug?

There's a lot of factors that could play into this, but to be brief if you're seeing this very early game and not later it's almost definitely from gaining multiple levels after a battle.  If you notice it again try to take note of your sovereign's level before and after battle.
