wbload 800k, desktopx builder 8,244k, objectdock plus 4,900k, cursorxp 2,232k, and rainlendar 3,840k. That's not really that bad, but it's really not bad when you consider it in context: acrobat 25,764k, acrotray.exe 940k, adobelm_cleanup 268k and 272k-I have Acrobat Pro 7 and love it, but I haven't used it in a few days. HP has about 5mb of processes going for my nice laser printer that I left at home for the summer. The spool server is using almos

I use it constantly, except when I'm installing something. I'm really busy and I had similar time issues with customizing new themes--what I ended up doing is using ObjectDock+ for most of my links, and using DX to change to look of the desktop and ad useful objects/widgets. Even then, I usually keep pretty much the same look (I seem to completely change every couple of weeks) and just adjust some colors and, of course, the wallpaper. I use all of th

You are probably using the DesktopX client, you have to be in Builder mode. Bring up the DX welcome screen, click edit, and go from there. Once Builder is loaded, you can then delete the mailbox object.

I like navels, but I also speak German, Spanish, Latin, Ancient Greek, and a little Mandarin. Berlin is where some guy who killed 13 million people for no reason hung out, and France is the place that the same guy was able to conquer in like 15 minutes. Remind me again, how easy is it for an immigrant to get full citizenship in Germany, and how does France treat its guest workers? Yeah, there are aspects of America that really, really suck, but the s

I've got a very basic Logitech mouse and it allows me to set several options (including assigning a shortcut key) when the scroll wheel is pressed. It's hard for me believe that driver utilities from the other brands don't offer similar functionality.

I've not been able to get the system tray to work in either DesktopX or OD+ for the past several days. DX3 says that "Stardock MCP not found or wrong version. Systray support disabled." How can I work around this, I've already tried an uninstall/ reinstall of both programs. The problem originally came up after installing the OD beta of DX3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I certainly second the OD+ to-do list proposal. A tab with all my to-dosrepresented graphically with an icon and a description on mouseover, would be really great. Andreas' calendar object is great for appointments and such, but a to-do list is certainly needed. One of the things that makes OD+ so much more than just an app launcher is the ability to have docklets that present you with informationeven when the desktop is behind open windows. Right now I am running the calendar object, a weat

It's not the video driver, that would be easy to fix. I don't have problems with DesktopX and hibernate -- at least not very frequently. I like object dock -- I absolutely need desktopx, so that would really be a problem.

I've had issues in the past with Object Dock on my laptop (XP pro, P4 1500, 512mb). When I resume from hibernate, all of the dynamic objects (clock, weather, calendar) fail to refresh. When I try to exit OD I get an error message. When I get it closed and reopen it, it works again -- until I go into hibernate (or even suspend). Is this a known issue? Any work arounds? I'd also like to know how much memory OD is taking up on people's systems. <A HREF="https://www.winc

The first time I tried to use MMJB affter I read your message, it opened and crashed. However, I tried it several subsequent times and it worked fine -- even with other programs open. It's only using about 20mbs of memory, so that shouldn't be the problem. It has always worked with DX2 in the past -- I used to use them together all the time (even with DX2 betas) until I made a objectmedia skin for DX2. Now I only use MMJB for ripping as well. I'm not sure what your problem could be. I've found v

I hope some sort of payment scheme (maybe somewhat like radio) is worked out so that there can be legal downloads that are flexible (the DRM stuff right now sucks). Until then, it's buy the CD, rip it, stick in a box -- over and over again. Oh well. I can wait. One thing that concerns me about illegal firesharing is that it may very well lead to some unsettling restrictions in 'fair use'. Those of us who play fair will end up with inferior products (CDs that don't play in computer drives, e

Just pick any picture you like, make it be the size you want. Go into DX, create a new object, change it to desktop x controller, unload dx. Change the image to your image. Click apply. Stick the image in the middle of the desktop, or in a corner or something. Go back to the object properties, states, transparency, and set the transparency to 0%. Now you have an invisible shortcut that you can click to get back to the desktop. On the desktop, put a DX program shortcut somewhere, click it, and yo

goodmorping, you can just make a new object, change object type to system, then choose start screensaver. Configure your screensaver to blank screen and make it require a password when resuming. That way, you can click a button to start it right away, plus it will start on its own if you walk away and forget -- thus thwarting the nosey little sister in all her attempts. Perfect theme to me. Get rid of all the icons -- I hate icons. I usually use keyboard launchpad to launch programs an

In addition to the sound, you can also make the graphic or text completely transparent for all states except for 'new mail' (after you configure it and get it in place). You can make it come into view when you have mail, helping to get your attention even when your sound is off. Turn the mail notification object into a shortcut for your mail program, and it becomes really useful. J. <img src="http://

Right click on the desktop, choose configure desktop x (or just open desktop x again with the start menu). Click theme settings, uncheck hide desktop icons. Then you should check out icon x tab, you can add functionality to your icons. Have fun, J.

I'm able to get most objects work on the second monitor with the current beta of DX. The spider object even walks over there, but the fish stay away. I have a laptop, so I just keep a clock and date over there for when I have the second monitor plugged in, and DX is able to show it -- and leave it off of the screen when the second monitor is not being used (which is a change from previous versions). This was pretty much number one on my wish list - so I hope it gets to the point that it works wi
