Just when I thought this was an easy one....

.... OK...short of READING the documentation, move the downloaded file to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\Objects. Open DX config and click on 'Load' Object, Pick the object you downloaded and click on load. Your object is now on your desktop.

try unzipping them and putting them in your object folder. then you should be able to use object browsers in desktopx

That's what I did earlier (Move the file to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\Objects) but it didn't show up on the load list, and when I clicked Browse, it didn't show up in the objects folder either.

My apologies snarph....I should have known better....

Awesomesauce75 - UN-ZIP them, remove the 'DXPACKAGE' file from the resulting folder and then put it in the 'Objects Folder'........

....

What exactly did you download?
...that isn't even zipped...make sure this is the one you're downloading https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?searchtext=binary+clock&sort=date&order=Descending&library=3 . Note that you need version 2.1 installed. If you open the 'Objects' folder and nothing in there shows as a DesktopX Package then you need to correct your file association by right clicking on one of the files, click 'Open With' and point to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\DesktopX.exe

No, that isn't the one I downloaded. But I tried associating it with DesktopX, and it still didn't show up in the list.

And by the way, it WAS zipped when I got it.

Well....that's special. That's the only file named 'Binary Clock' at Wincustomize, so if that's not what you have then where did you download what you do have?
Just open the zip file in Winzip or whatever and double click on the DesktopX package-it will put a copy of it in the correct folder for you.

That download is  a dxpack, so we're back to post #17.
