Quoting Nabbar, reply 8 Quoting LightofAbraxas, reply 6 Yeah, just poking a little fun. Considering that the actual changelog was at the top of the "Recent Posts" section, and the OP has created a new thread asking for the link for each beta release rather than looking around a little, I felt justified. No need for name-calling. 1st off I did look aro
ok lets see, there are a few ways of pulling it off. I am not sure how dominion handles it, but two really good examples are Master of magic and Heroes of might and magic. They do it in different ways,in master of magic you have "units". each unit can have between 1 and 8 individuals in it. when it attacks, each individual in the unit makes an attack roll and each roll is dealt with seperately. <br /

Being a gamer is serious business, wish I could just play games at work.
Thanks for clearing that up Anus. Umm, I me

Some people are happy about the info Frogboy gave here. Some are not. Some think that the "new stuff" is not a "gift" to us early adopters but actually a moral requirement that is deserved. My favorite is the psychic fanboys who know everything SD is doing, and why they are doing it. Like, "SD could have just cut their losses and gave up..." etc. I realise arguing with fanboys is pointless, so I will address it to Stardock and anyone who wants to read it can do so as w

LOTR is a book written by someone with zero knowledge of war.
Not to bring up a dead thread. But you are off in two of your assumptions.

There is absolutely ZERO way that you "haven't crashed since the beta" unless you HAVE NOT PLAYED SINCE THE BETA. Good try though. 1.1 brought m
I want a game where I understand the result most of the time. Losing units in combat against overwhelming numbers makes sense. Losing against equal odds makes sense. Losing againt stronger units makes sense. Losing against a single vastly inferior unit because you rolled a 0 does not make sense. Losing against an equal unit where you get one shot and the other unit *doesn't get damaged at all* doesn't make sense. Fighti

I am no longer even going to reply to your input, Everyone else in the thread is pretty much agreed that heroes are underpowered compared to other units and only have some advantages due to other flaws in the game (AI, range OP).
seriously omg rant more - i can beat the game without using heroes. That is really not the issue. frankly its faster to crank out units than it is to level up my hero. spam civ tech to get gold. then warfare for 4 man groups - crank out observers till the cows go home and then go all zerg like. Sit back after killing 2 or 3 ai, then tech up rinse repeat. ther is no real mystery to it, see taht hero over there - my observers will kick the stuf

Oh yeah, and add a screenshot of your hero taking out a full stack of AI. I would like to see some evidence of how you manage to create a hero that takes down multiple dragons and 12 men units on ridiculous. I can only guess from your post that you have been drinking or something <br /

Wow, Lots of people seem to all be "on the same page" according to them, in how we "all play our heroes". I have basically outlined my strategy a few times in prior posts, so it is easy to deduce how I play (held back a few key secrets). But can you guys please explain how you make "uber heroes"? I only ask, because I have not seen it mentioned ONCE in these forums. Granted I have not scoured the posts until my eyes bleed, looking for the exact strategy I use, but since no one seems t

This was originally build as the spiritual successor to MoM, and a game aiming to do that needs none of this stuff (but it does need an awful lot more spells and stronger combat mechanics). We definitely need a revisit of the "What is Elemental?" discussion, if only to find out what Stardock intends to build.

Reply to E-Sword in War of Magic

I would assume this is the old "Place Holder" developer trick. They put an item/spell in a game. It isn't completely fleshed out, so they "bug" it. They make it so the description is "item4326v.204red" or some crazy 'shit' ( trying to blend in here ) like that. This is completely a joke to have it cost 12k. It's not worth 250. Then again, nothing is worth over 250 (offensive) if that is price of longbows. I guess, they made EK sword, want to use it in game some

or a spell that removes dead 'roadblock' items (old huts that won't go away come to mind) A wind walker spell, basically you float over terrain (water, forest etc.) Mountain climbing spell, lets you walk over mountains without terraforming the 3x3 lower land would be a dream. I would sell 3 of my 4 offspring for that. Screw the dynasties, LOL a Haste spell for movement (we already have restricted number of enchantments, why not give us some sweet ones)

I had similar problem I think. Can't remember the exact error. Not to state the obvious, but can you install it from Impulse. I had to do that. Hmmm. I remember colonization and EU series different than most of you I guess. Colonization (great game for it's day) was basically a trading type game, right? One of the fundamental aspects of the game was getting the finished goods right?
