Will Total Conversions be able to take advantage of this, perhaps with an optional "restart game for changes to take effect", or will those be handled fully outside of the game client? I am really looking forward to this so far, so keep up the great work!

Oh, I love this idea. I am totally in the process of watching every show, as I am totally hooked. Good luck with this. I am going to try my hand at modding shortly, so if I can learn the system (school is starting next week) I would love to help ^_^ But take my offer with a grain of salt, as me is busy >.

The plan is to have a button that you can click in order to roll the dice, or you can put in the numbers yourself from what you roll in real life ^_^ Kyah, this is like the perfect game for it =D

Added an audio files screen, and an audio files pop-out to the main post. Can't wait until I can start modding!

This is sounding pretty darn great! So is there going to be a list on the main menu that has Mods on it, and then when you enter that menu option and turn on some mods, it automatically loads up the mods so that if one of the mods changes the main menu list and background, the player will see it changed right away when the player leaves that mod list screen and returns to that main menu?

Added the main menu and design menu. Not much, but at least it gives it some structure. Now, I was thinking about voice packs. While you will be able to choose what voicing your character uses in-game (on their turn, when they attack, when they are hit, etc.), I am toying around with the idea of an announcer that calls out everything that happens (with the option to turn it off and use other announcer voices). So they would call out: " [has attacked] [a] [goblin]." "[

Added the Module screen mockup to the original post. I am going with DND 4.0 for this one because it will just work so well with the module system and how I am planning to integrate everything, and since that is the version that I use. I will hopefully end up using this mod as a compact DM tool. Plus, since multiplayer should be able to work fine with it, it will allow for some nice internet-based DNDing with friends.

It still does not look like what I am after =P Made a quick battle screen mockup to just solidify some things in my head.

Unless I am mistaken, that doesn't include a lot of what I am trying to do, such as the combat and character setup.

The 'What' This mod aims to bring the D&D combat into an easily manageable form via computer. The 'Why' Seeing as Dungeons & Dragons has never released their Dungeon Builder, I just wanted to try my hand at a small combat sim for it. While a tabletop is great, I tend to get a lot of slowdown in the normal game, such as where my gameplay board isn't big enough for an archer to be out of range, people constantly needing to recalcula
Now, the highlighted parts are ones I have no idea what they do and no idea why they’re there. I will ask about them next week. The rest is pretty straight forward after a bit of experimenting.
I think that those Color refer to the icon colouring (perhaps a colour that shows through the alpha on the image.) The Hotcolor is likely the colour change for when the image is highlighted or selected. At least I am guessing ^_^

You are just making my weekend, Brad! My plan is also to try out making different games. I think that my first one will try to imitate the Dungeons and Dragons 4.0 battle system (since so much of it is purely tactical and rulebook-based.) This modding system sounds like it is going to be a huge hit with both new and old modders, so I am totally ecstatic over this! I can't wait to hear more!

While reducing clutter of the XML files is good, please do not remove neat features that are working fine. The more options modders have in their control, the better things they can make. I agree with Raven in guessing that the icon colour will colour the icon with what you set it. I am really looking forward to this because it seems that making small mods will simply integrate so well. My main wonder right now is about total conversions (TC's). Do you plan to somehow support TC's in

I really don't care for the multiplayer aspect unless I am able to lan it up against some AI dudes in mine or a friend's campaign, but then again, I mainly play single player games.

Lets hope for some good HD Fraps footage by someone who gets into the alpha! That is assuming that there is no NDA.
