Interesting. However, the default on my system is the first option, "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only." So, it wouldn't be on for LegendaryHeroes.exe to begin with. So, I wonder if your fix is working because DEP is now running for something else? Or maybe Windows considers LegendaryHeroes.exe essential? Anyway, it's not important as long as it's workin

Interesting idea. Be sure to let us know how it works out.
What is it about magical weapons that is so great? I have never once used them, but I have seen several people say that's the way to victory to get lightning hammers (I think) or other certain magical gear.
I didn't say it was impossible. What you suggest might do the trick. However, if I'm next to a wildland and they expand one tile in my direction from the start, it may be a short game. As I said...tricky.
Because wildlands start out a lot stronger than regular factions, it would be tricky to implement and balance.
I have no problem with expanding wildlands as long as it is an option that can be turned off. Having a wildlands faction "trying to win" to me would be like an unbalancing extra AI player that I prefer to be without. However, as long as it's an option, it's an interesting idea.
Quoting webusver, reply 20 So all EXP traits are waste of efforts since 50% increase of exp is't worth even 2 levels. Also if there is an exp cap, then its also a waste. Ouch, this sound like a really bad talent. If +50% is less than 2 levels, +25% should be less than one level - and thus never catching up with the lost feat. When I sum up the Xp-bonus from taking +25% (mage talent) at lvl 2,
How do I attack someone's resources?
Usually, you don't want to. If the resource is attached to an outpost, you can capture the resource for yourself by simply moving a unit onto the outpost (which captures--not destroys--the outpost and all attached resources). If the resource is attached to a city and you plan on capturing the city, then the same applies. You'll get the resource for yourself when you capture the city. As far as getting experience f
Interesting. The one trait I find indispensable is Master Scouts and nobody has mentioned it yet.
Shame really that I invested time in this..
Not at all. I can understand a request such as you and Borg are requesting. I appreciate you wanting this aspect of the game to be better. My (over-?)reaction was because you initially painted the game as being flawed and one of the worst when it came to the end of game. You write well, and I hope you continue to contribute to the forum. My only suggestion is to take the approach
So reloading an Auto save is not an option.
I was primarily suggesting you manually save. And yes I get that you don't want to have to reload, but really you expect the game designer to make it so you can load a game you already won? I am perplexed that you find this game's finish so disappointing because you go on to cite just how much information is given. I've played games that have said basically "you won!" and not much else. Also, you should have a pretty good idea you are about to end the game. So, save it just before you win. Personally, once the game is over, I never want to go back. If you forget to save, reload the last autosave and re-save that. I don't want to put you down for your
Lots of good advice above. However, keep in mind there is no one right way to play. For example, my first city is almost always a fortress. I like the production bonus and to be able to have a head start creating better troops once I get to that point. So my normal build order (not claiming it's better--just different) is fortress, town, conclave, town, town.
Saying you can settle any tile would be like saying you can settle any planet at the start of the game in Gal Civ. Also, having defined tiles is the core of FE/LH. Being able to settle anywhere would kill the early excitement of the game. Some of my most interesting games are where I had to scramble to get my second city. And yes, I've had a game or two where I started over because it was hopeless due to lack of city tiles, but that hasn't happened since FE.
So have any of these people with the mouse issue tried using the "Hardware Mouse Cursor" option?

If it's just the autosaves that have this problem, then I would say it's a minor problem. I'm assuming the autosaves take place when they do in order to avoid delays between turns. If so, autosaves should only be used and reloaded in the case of emergency, such as a freeze. If you anticipate a situation where you might want to reload, you should just do a manual save or a quick save. However, if all saves have this issue, it should be fixed. If autos
Despite my earlier snarky post, I don't like the bunny slippers and really dislike the idea of a giant lollipop for a weapon. I guess since the loot pack didn't appeal to me (even without these items), I was more able to appreciate the humor.
Years ago, my orders clerk in the National Guard created a humorous set of phony orders that accidentally got issued as the real thing. Fortunately for us, he and I found out that day that our Colonel had a sense of humor. The Colonel couldn't keep a straight face as he tried to chew us out. There are certain times in life that you discover if a particular person has--or does not have--a sense of humor. The original post in this thread is such a time! [e digicons]:D[/e] </
I don't even notice autosave, which is definitely on. I have Turns Until Autosave set to zero. There is no delay, and I don't crash. I have a question though. Since whether you get attacked is often random, is it a bug or was it simply a different random result? If it's a bug, I agree it should be fixed.
Is anyone else dealing with frequent crashes? It happens to me quite often: the mouse icon will change to the hourglass, but it will freeze there. I'd like to see some of these little things fixed, and I might agree the game could use a little polish. However, I would hardly say it's "buggy."

If you're inclined to do otherwise, so be it.
I am all for fixing the bugs and glitches surrounding caravans. However, I like that you can destroy an enemy's caravan, and I think they have a place in the game.
