Not to be a forum troll, but isn't this just more people screaming "We want B!" and then Frogboy goes "I bring to you, X Y and Z!" and we go "wait, we wanted B." and Frogby goes "We have taken Z in a whole new direction! It will be funner this way." and we go "Dude, we just want B, you had B, you disabled B out of some narcissitic delusion that B is somehow boring and broken, but really, that's what we want." and Frogboy goes "But Civ V uses this like, whole new e

I specifically want TAC battles in Multiplayer. I specifically want an iniative system so my archers don't shoot the same unit six times in a row every time it takes a turn. I also specifically want a method to repurpose my peasants with sticks to be peasants with bows without having to serve them up as hors d'oeuvres to a nearby dragon. I also specifically want to be able to take 3 peasants of similiar design and make them a group, or take 5 peasants of simi
Well, my first impression of 1.09n (after skipping 1.09 a-m) is "Geeze, the game really didn't change all that much." I mean, yes, the UI is definitely improved, the new graphics for the spells are nice, even if they are ripped directly off of DragonballZ and a few of them are still duplicates. I kind of expected my cities to get attacked pretty consistently so now I'm at a snail's pace crawl trying to build up a defensive army to go with my pioneer so I can defend my new set
Troll Fight!!! I had to read this thread again with "Mortal Kombat" techno going on in the background. "Test your might!" The really awesome part is, I don't really care who rips whom's spine out. I am hoping Luckmann wins though. Lord Xia annoys me.
The entire research process should be drastically changed. Instead of a "research tree" in which we select what we want to research, the game should ask us periodically what developments we would like, what fixes we need in place, or ask us what we think about a research possibility. Regardless of our answer, the actual research generated should be randomly generated without regard to our answer, or how many times we answer the same way.

Sovereign ability: Vampirism. The sovereign gains 10% of damage done by melee attacks as restored hitpoints, up to their normal maximum hitpoints. I can't really think of which sovereign to put it on, and I don't think we're up to adding new sovereigns/kingdoms, but, I'd definitely use that ability for a custom sovereign. :)
I was excited about 1.1, but as I read more about what was going into 1.1, my expectations kind of dimmed a little. Now I expect...more fixes. I would *like* to see the ATB bar go in, and tac battles come back for multiplayer. That's all I really want. That would make a happy 1.1. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll see that. I think we'll see global mana, a broken global population setup, lots of apologies, and a speedy 1.1 hotfix to fix archery again.
These numbers are skewed because of your more risky behaviors. Our birth defect rate is going through the roof as the average age of the parents increases. I think anyone that starts popping kids out after thirty is insane too. Most, like 99.9%, of the autism and downs syndrome is directly related to idiots waiting till after they've played at having a career to get busy. The actual base numbers for chromos
Well, I hate to post on topic here, but I actually read a newspaper article concerning a couple who were first cousins who got married. It spoke a great deal about the negative stigma against them, all the reasons why it worked for them, IE: compatible personalities, familiar with each other, similiar values, religions, background, etc. It almost sounded like the good-side of an arguement about arranged marriage. Blah blah blah. The important part of this art
Actually, Lord Xia, I figure we're about the same age, since I saw you reference "Dragon Warrior" in another post. I, too, have killed blue slimes until my eyes bled. I also know where Erdrick's tomb lies. I wouldn't say I have *all* white friends, but I'm also not going to pull out the trophy-bro. I don't treat my friends like poke'mon. But, since we've elevated ourselves to the pinnacle of "LOLZ! I no read ur stuffz anymorez!" I'd say we're pr
So you've *never* bought anything, ever, that had a little sticker that said "Made in China?" I think it's funny how people are so quick to bring up child labor in China and how wrong it is, yet they are so quick to line on up at the Walmart feeding trough. I'm not arguing for or against incest. I am rather apalled at your rather aggressive and violent reaction to it's mere possibility. While I normally agree the "it's realistic arguement" has no place in the video g
All the defense of incest is fucking gross guys. Are you all head-fucked or something? Good lord, fucking your sister is wrong, and making babies with her is extra wrong. End of the story. This game isn't a damn history lesson, it's fantasy, and if you want incest in your fantasy, you are fucking sick. Please no incest, and please let us marry children to champions. I love that Elemental is an RPG/Fantasy game. I love that Elemental is a 4x/Strategy/TBS game. RTS would have been fun too, but, RTS often turns into a "rush war" so TBS was probably a good choice. I love that you can customize your faction, your champion, and all of your units. We can put a unique flair on how we play. I love that the game runs on my laptop! :D I love that you can zoom out for a cloth map overview and zoom in for detail.
I am aware JC is a software developer, and I am aware that I'm posting on a "gaming site." I am, however, posting on a gaming site which has, in my opinion, takes a healthy approach towards dealing with software piracy. As I read it back when I was reading up on Sins of a Solar Empire, "We don't write the type of games people steal, we write the type of games people buy." Paraphrased, to be certain, but a valid point. Instead of writing cutting edge technology p
JC: Great post! I guess the difference between me and you is I'll probably be banned come Monday. LOL I don't advocate theft by any means. Stealing is obviously wrong, otherwise, I wouldn't actually *own* all of my software now. But when people say "piracy" and most people are indeed referring to exactly what I do, "illegally" downloading software. And there is indeed very little distinction between those who steal and those who do not.</p
I'm finally going to weigh in on this. I couldn't get through 10 pages of debate. I'm a software pirate. Not a distributor; a downloader. You can feel however you want about that, myself, as a consumer, got tired of being defrauded by software developers almost all of the times I went to go buy a game. I got tired of grabbing games based upon the screenshots on the box, only to find out the screenshots on the box are nigh on impossible to achieve with the game.
Something else companies forget, a very important point: Pirates are also your best paying customers. OK....you're just yanking a chain here with that one. No matter how you will want to apply the spin, the people who pay for a product are the 'best customers'. People who don't pay for a product....[and don't 'borrow' it] are by definition NOT customers. People who pirate a product are depriving
I read as I listen to Pandora Radio. When is our beloved government going to take action and and sue game developers for the out-and-out fraud they inflict upon the gaming community every day? I mean, hell, even the game Elemental doesn't match the box it came in, and obviously was shipped in an unfinished state. When is Brad going to send me a $1500 check?
I had this problem with the undead mod. Try uninstalling, then manually deleting your /My Documents/My Games/Elemental folder and then reinstalling. That's where all your unit XMLs are.
I have no hostility towards Brad. I do have hostility towards the game and some of the decisions surrounding it. If Brad wants to take sole responsibility for that, then so be it. There is a 4-page thread in the MP section politely asking that Tac battles be returned to MP. Now Brad is saying "We'll see how many people are actually playing MP and then dedicate resources to MP based upon that." It's a falictious decision that's dealing with a corrupted sampling, a
After v1.09E, we’ll take a step back to see how people are playing multiplayer and start putting together plans for future improvements in that area based on the number of people in the community playing it.
Why don't you make it not suck royally, and *THEN* see how many people are playing it. You said yourself in another post, *DON'T PLAY MULTIPLAYER!!! DON'T BUY MY GAME IF YOU EXPECT TO PLAY MULTIPLAYER!!!" and now you're s
pft. Nevermind. 10 pages, and I read hte first one.
Loving the ATB idea, a lot. That's absolutely fantastic. Fast still matters, but it's not a click-a-saurus of attacks everytime it's your turn. I don't think being able to set a path beyond your current move radius is a *bad* thing per se, it's just not extremely clear what's going on, how many turns it'll take to get there, who is "waiting" to do their move and stalling your auto-turn, etc. In another game, you could set a destination any number of turns away, it'
