Just how do I use a mod ? Or where can I find the details on applying mods? Also any way to know its loaded other than close observaion?
I picked a 'random guardian unit' choice when levelling up a city just to see what I'd get and I got a champion unit. The name of the unit was 'champion'. She had 1 essence, an attack of 1, defense of 0, 12 hits. She also was not a champion, meaning no equipment, no ability to enter lairs/quest locations. She moved fast, but that was all she had going for her, along with a retaliate ability meaning she had a whooping 2 attack when striking back at opponents.
Brad 'felt like' he owed us an explanation.. I had no expectations of any such statement prior to that, so we're way ahead on that. Go Brad!.. Enjoy your vacation, please fix the AI and help tighten up the game as quickly as possible.. In the future you gotta pimp slap them executives and bean counters every now and then to get the quality you and your customers want upon release.
In my current game, I have 2 champions with that trait and I don't notice an increase. I thought that maybe each provided a +10% bonus so I had not reached a noticable improvement. Are champions' bonuses weaker then a sovs? (Well except the +1 gilder....)
Royalty is only functional if you imbue them, i think. or marry them and have the trait passed to your children. Otherwise it only works right on yo

I mean I like a good argument as much as anybody, but it's been the same thing for what, five days now? It feels like more. At this point it's just going in circles. The launch went poorly. We know. Maybe it's time to talk about something else?
That is
Ok so.. I ran into one of those super monsters.. this thing has some 20k attak, 13k def, some 1100 hps.. I was one of those rock spider things cant remember the name of.. Had teleport, and a friend just as mee but somehow was at 14 hp of like 1200.. So I take myself my wife my uber son and a champion, and attacked this thing with 7 young dragons, and used the infinite range true dmg attack, doing 40 a hit. After the fight My Sov and friends gained something on the
I could see deployable installations like the perm level 1 cities of the subraces.. with enhanced defenses or other bonuses, that didn't grow like cities but reather had a ZoC based on the attack strength of the forc3es stationed there or some such.. Or have some modified population potential so they could train there and expand at least one or two spaces from the initial location.. That way you could go and grab resources, control strategic choke points, with9out having to really invest in i
Good example of why there are so many "fanboys" of Stardock and Brad. They deserve them. At any rate, I agree--this is way better than GalCiv2 was when it first came out, and even that was fun. What he said about the state of gaming is true. People expect more spit and polish on the first run because of so many console games. What you sacrifice is anything approaching depth. A good example
i dont bother with caravans anymore roads help the enemy more than me
The mem leaks causing such conditions are fairly well known.. I have vista premium 64 and 4g mem and i get the same conditions.
Probably killed the caravan 1st then you got the battle resolution to avenge it.. then the video played in reverse.. or some such
Yes that would be the out of memory/DX invalid call or some such.. If you ctrl+alt+del to open system manager, when you select it you should get those kinds of error messages.
Really? You think that's gong to get you anywhere.. Wait for a patch like the rest of us.
So.. what are you suggesting a whole sale sell back of our games? Too late now.. I can not fathom that such was the intended tone but to read it straight that is also somewhat the impression I got. Like it or lump it. My main concern of now is the technical issues of stability. I expect that by the time the try and release 1.1, half their work will have been done by the player modders.
OK... what about the technical issues? are we to expect that late fall as well? can we expect ongoing stability updates?
I always marry an adventurer or royalty if possible, also not just adventurer trait but +1 added ability like vengeance.. Royalty is just for added prestige to growing cities, which seems only to work for units with essence.
My 3rd child of my most recent game, was born unto me with 127 essence..??.. [e digicons]:erk:[/e] My previous game, same child, 92 or some such.. Others average in the 40-50s occasionally a dud at 5.. Now seriously.. How does this happen and fall within the realm of balance?
Start a new game and see if its there
I played all weekend and am still running into bugs, out of memory crashes, lost units, lost kids, shards don't increase magic damage, and other random stuff. As much as I am looking forward to multi-player maybe they should hold off until they implement some more fixes. Is anyone else running into problems?
Under the currant build absolutely not for prime time.. Private invites to beta tester
Fair enough. Like I said, I chose not to try and participate in the beta. I've only been going on what other beta testers have been saying in other communities. Up until then, I didn't get an impression the game wasn't ready for release. Or at least, that it had so many outstanding issues.
No there was no uproar like you might hope there to be if the game was going to be overtly flawed. but really EWOM is not flawed s
You said you would never have baught it the way it is....so, I thought maybe you don't want it anymore. I don't think you want to listen to reason, so I will just leave it alone. I said I never would have bought it if it was intended to be driven by player-created content. Which it's not, since Brad is already mentioning if/when the time is right for paid expansions. If that's being unreasonable, the bar on being
This forum really needs is an ignore button to cut down on the noise and noise makers!
I oppose ignore or squelch, or at least doing so anon.. If you are going to ignore anyone, you should by fairness ignore everyone and listen to only yourself. As a forum tool, I support such features only if the person ignored has a recordable notification. I feel likewise on +/- Karma systems..
Quoting AbsynthMinded, reply 100I object to anyone suggesting that SD does not deserve awards for EWOM.. The game is good looking and fun to play, even with all its faults. Once the technical issues are resolved it will not take long to balance things up.. If not for the issues hanging over it, EWOM would be a superior game for both vanilla settings and the potential of the modding. You just described in exactly why they don't des
