Yes I had this issue as well and it does persist thru a restart of the program and the particular game. I will try a reinstall too then.
I agree with this though. I just killed an ashwake dragon with rank 1 cold staves. In fact, the arguments against how rediculous this is are rediculous themselves. Wear a cold cloak and cold ring? What if they are using fire staves? Not to mention you would have to best your opponent a great deal in research to obtain cloaks at the same time he has staves. And even if that was possible, that throws the value of resources bit o
The first issue for throwing knives is the price. If i have nothing better to fill a slot and it cost (almost)nothing why wouldn't I just throw them on. Then it is a very situational use, ie very occassionaly I may want to throw the knife instead of something else. Particularly if its a crap unit. Maybe the free town militia could have them or something. I am not however paying metal for it. It could I suppose have some sort of power, like poison or s
Interesting, there seems to be far more the game then I realised. I just hope it can change to make it worth something. I actually agree with the OP analysis. Why? Because I dont know what the armor EVEN DOES! I never built nor fight against plate or even chain. I have my heros to fight with. A sword is the BEST weapon by far becuase it doubles my combat power, I get 2 attacks instead of one. I am always outnumbered, and so counter attack is always powe
Im not sure that backswing doesnt matter. I guess this is for mathematically inclined people to answer (not me) but basically you get a almost gauranteed hit. The marginal value of this would decline the higher your chance to hit on one swing got but at what point is this out valued by 10 or 20 percent extra damage? However I agree with the thrust of your post. I too love customisation and would like to see more of. More weapons, more armor more stuff. I dont find it boring
I remember a reply on this from Derek. He specified that they would not be adding this idle production type as the current system works, but I agree with you that if people want to use auto turn then the cities need an idle setting. I can hope for something before release, but I'm not counting on it.
Aye we dont need an 'idle' type that give some sort of bonus. Which is what I think he was refering to
@ leroy105: Sounds like you seriously need to up the difficulty. Your playthrough sounds like you might be needing to up the dificulty to have fun. (try very hard or riddiculous to find some challenge with even heroic strategies...) Agree with not understanding limiting certain enchants to heroes. (might be another little thing where a switcheroo whould be ok. Why not just allow flaming blades for units instead of heroes?)<br
I get running away for throwing knives or trool healing. But the behaviour is general. General running away would be alot better if there were some healing monsters/troops. So often they run back a little but to what end? To not attack me with their mates that turn and maybe kill me? To let me heal or regen or spell cast? Becuase they usually dont heal or regen or spell cast? Adding a healer to this behaviour would be very different I suggest.
The only choice is whether you use a stack of heroes or solo with your sov (heroes split XP between them)
I have deliberately been dragging out my challenging level games to make some troops. My observations summary: even fixing the hero v troops research problem opens up resource problems amongst others. a. There is just no possible way for research to match troops to heros. You can cut XP in h
Quoting Glazunov1, reply 5 Production nerf is great. Now there is more a hard choice what to build Agree completely. I am much less cavalier about sacrificing spearmen and settlers. snip If you're that good, you're just that good.
Talk about amazingly good. Um when were you ever 'cavalier' about wasting spearman? Perhaps yo
Maybe give the enemies extra attack rather than extra hitpoints at higher difficulties? So World Difficulty for Monsters and Ruffians and AI player difficulty for AI players, could be +5%/+10%/+15%/+20% Attack for Hard/Expert/Ridiculous/Insane respectively. That means they would do more damage in a shorter time, but aren't just hit sinks. And in a way, slightly greater attack is easier to believe than double or triple hitpoi
SOmetimes for hte ruffian/bandit people its to use their throwing knives
I'm slowly starting to form a Theory about an issue in the game, which may be obvious but I haven't seen it discussed. The apparent symptom: People who play on higher difficulty seem to be the most vocal about how heroes dominate the game.
Ok, to break your theory I will become vocal about heroes dominance. I have so far played only on normal difficulty and have used only heroes and pioneers in real games
I was quite annoyed to get my pet and then have him die in the first battle and not come back! I have some useless Inslow that never dies and has barely a limb left (or eye or anything really, hes partially mummified as far as i can tell) and my poor dog cant come back? I would like my dog aka 'mans best friend' to function as a champion ie eligible for more enchantments and not perma die. Ideally they would also get access to skills and/or some sort of inventory
Why? First of all because it is a perfectly realistic strategy. Mongol horse archers did this to people from Korea to Poland, and no one found an answer to it. The Tatars held them off for a generation by having comparable horse archers, and the Seluks beat them by developing better horse archers.
Oh please do not bring this total war fantasy into this game. Mongols succeed thruogh having good well trained men and
Thank you! God damn, 6 months later and this is still not fixed?
Hi, Just bought the beta on steam and had 2 complete playthrus. I thought I would give my feedback while I wait for a new beta to hopefully get rid of some issues. Disclaimer: I have no particluar knowledge of the game or game making, saw it on steam and was like "I am so desparate for a fantasy strategy game i Must have this". Strike that, I am so desparate for a good strategy game!!! I hate civ 5 but play it with no other options. I bought it hopin for a M
