Actually my complaint is from my side. I don't have to deal with killing juggernauts, AI does. And both AI and monster don't have a chance. My complaint is that once I get Juggernauts it is pointless to build anything else. Warg troops are useful for patrolling your borders and quick response to intrusions, but for straight up fighting there is nothing better then juggers, at least not at that tech level (medium armors and weapons).
and I just thought that post was a little ridiculous because it isn't that hard to kill monsters once your ready to invade. I was not saying that an army of umberdroths heading to your city on turn 60-70 is easy, but you also play on more ridiculous settings. New players who are playing on lower settings shouldn't have this problem, unless they are playing on a small map and get unlucky.
THe settin
As I understand, those who used MP function was only about 3% of the community whereas to bring over MP fuction to FE would take as much financially as they've already put towards the game. Anyone can see with those numbers that MP isn't worth the effort.
Those numbers arent really explained at all, so I dont think you can rely on them to say no on would play MP. How are they gathered? Where
Challenging isnt supposed to receive any bonuses, just the full AI. To the OP: now you mention it I do often find gold mines etc next to their capitals.
Dont get caught up on the name. Besides there are lots of well equiped militia in history, you are sterotyping. It stops when the AI has some sort of defense that can stop a human from steam rolling. Remember this is a single player game, if the AI doesnt have a chance to stop you then the game sucks, no going online after 'training' with a crap ai.
Slingers would fit perfectly with the low tech at the start.
Because it costs very little effort to make a club compared to making a suit of leather armor. Because a sword used to cost as much as a good farm, but a suit of armor as much as a few villages.
No its doesnt cost a good farm for a sword or a few villages for armor, seriously, how could that even be? Like seriously think about that. Forget links or references lets just think. Churn out just one sword a week a
If FE was anything like CIV V, I would not be here. First version of the beta was better than CIV V. CIV IV is the yardstick here. Now, that was a GREAT game. I think FE is gonna be game of the year for me, and I just bought XCOM.
Yes, no comparision to CIV 5. A long line of great games and then boom a heap of crap. Do not compare this to FE. FE is already a million times better then CIV 5. CIV 5
The henchmen only require the blood, no tech. Same with golems, slaves, and Juggs.
As u sure golem is blood only? I needed to thave the hammers talent as well as ironeer races to build golems. Even tho it said I could make golems the tech didnt have golems on it. Spiders also need you to be evil, to get the hoarder tech, which is not mentioned in the description.
Heavenfalls' advice is very good, but it does not tell you what to do about the dragon/shrill lord/drake that stomps your city on turn 50-100. In my opinion, this happens at this point of the Beta because of bugs in the monster A.I. The developers are working on it, but right now, as a player, there is not much you can do if you have the bad luck to attract the wrong kind of attention early on. "Not much"
Quoting pomalley, reply 5 Are dragons just too powerful to be taken down without magic? A champion can take a dragon down just fine, and so can a well designed player army. But I don't think I've often seen the AI field an army that can take on a dragon. Yithril may, but anyone else?
Interesting question. I have seen one AI (i think Yithril???) field like a
It's the reason why I suggested a city guardian. And they have one now within the statue! Sadly, I've never seen it in operation yet...so I can't comment as to it's balance.
It is very very poor. I would not for a second hesitate or change the way I made my sov/army composistion knowing it was there. They should atleast lose the first level statue and make them all guardian idols. Atlest th
These are all good ideas in this thread , I really hope atleast one of them makes it into the game.
These points are all still valid
Flogging a dead horse I know, but this thread needs to stay bumped.
It really does. I am trying to play less hero more civ. The monsters that I can see go past there stuff and into my cities, its maddening, hair pulling stuff. AI builds right next to a hoarder spider stack, the spiders hang round do nothing for like 10 turns, then go past his city, past his outpost, turn left instead of right (righ i
Yes! A thousand times yes. I was going to post on this myself. City defense is abysmal. There is no other way to put it. Whether its getting killed by a spider or failing to even dent a player attack its useless. Whether its at the start or at the end the cities need defense badly. It absolutely F's me that my cities are regularly kiled by spiders, bears, mutant wierdos. Its a level 3 city and it cant have a few more dudes or armor? Even if I make troops they get whomped by
[Fix?] When I declared war on Kraxis, I was bumped out of his territory. Good, reduce blitzing a tiny bit. Anything that gives defensive inertia is for the best. [Suggestion] Continuing the debate from the ranged attack thread, what if ranged units received a penalty to attack if they’ve moved on there turn?? This would encourage standing your ground while using range weapons and may help solve the free kiting problem that c
One of the problems with reduction of crit damage is that you are basing it on very high level heroes. I personally don't play just with heroes and I don't spend three levels getting the potential trait. I fully understand that I'm not min maxing. Now if you want a to introduce a damage soft cap when you combine all the skills, then fine, but if not then just capping the skill will be detrimental over all.
Hmm
I enjoy the open concept and the ability to kick someone out of your turf....or to be kicked out.
Dont you have to do it every turn? For me anyway they just wont stop coming 90 percent of the time. Its also an invitation to blitz the AI. I always start wars hiting a city first turn, realistic or not, its not good for the AI. A hard no entry or war rule would prevent this.
Or some way to autoate the go away command. Its very tedious telling them to go every. single. turn.
Love me my Ignys longbow. That is something thats really not appropriate right at the start of the game. I never take it off the whole game. WHich means something is really wrong.
Like the title says. Anyone used one? I never seen em mentioned in balance or patches or anything. Never used one till today. I built one today for the first time ever. But didnt really get to use it, nothing left to fight but a mega dragon which just dodged it. Not really fair to judge the catapult on this tho. I cant beleive there a whole another unit type burried way down the tech tree! Can we get this put in at the start? I like variety and since you gone to the ef
Perhaps you didn't read my post. I am quite clear on how exactly the solution adresses the problem. Nerf heroes, boost monsters, make heroes dependent on cities (research, gildar, troops). What's missing?
The balance between heros and troops? Nerf experience either doesnt work: as you said it has already been tried, my heros progress slower, I still dont need troops tho. I also have more boring drops, less
