Maybe dynasties could be included in the Elemental game that comes after FE.
Yeah, that's what I got out of them saying that it was on the other side of the 'feature split.'
Im not sure if I completely agree here. I think something that has been woefully overlooked is the factions themselves. While each faction will have its own unique flare, it doesn't seem like much is being done to make cities more interesting. It is true that they are trying to make cities less micromanaged, but in my mind, this places a heavy burden to ensure that players don't simply set and forget their cities.
True enough

Yeah, it was probably a smart choice. They have to have something to focus on in Elemental: Game 3, after all.

The rest of the time I worked as a consultant/entrepreneur, either for friends or on my own. And I have done very well. Those who think they "must" work for big corporations lack imagination or incentive or both. The difference between this story and America is the fact you can do just what I - and most people in the work force -

Yeah, just to echo what they've said, I've played a bunch of games up to turn 100 or so and haven't had many problems. The one thing that has given me troubles is clicking the End Turn button really fast. I think that with the multi-thread code they're using for the game, clicking End Turn before all of the threads resolve will cause a crash pretty consistently. Other than that, I'd give it the green light.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't mind getting rid of the custom cards altogether if it had a significant effect on memory management. I'd take a bigger map any day.

American lives are important and Iraqi (Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Libyan) non-combatant civilians are less so? I like this, too. Though I agree with Umbranoth that maybe some special tactics should be scaled with experience instead of unlocked. Also, it would be nice if training level could be attained through experience gain in battle as well as initial training. Now that I think about it, it doesn't really make much sense to do it any other way. Edit: Although I like this, the way that FE development is being run, I highly doubt that features suggested by the community are g
Honestly, most of my own effects last a few seconds at the most. Have you tried adding in the code for projectile effects with an invisible projectile animation? If you set the speed low enough, and there is a way to get the effect bound to the target to play before the projectile 'hits,' you might be able to get what you're looking for. If that doesn't work, it's probably hard-coded. Also, slightly off-topic, I'm kind of curious as to what you've c
I really appreciate that the Lifesteal function works now, but it would be even better if there was a way to set a custom loss:gain ratio. That way it could be used to create custom spells that either: 1) Damage you, heal me (like it is now) 2) Damage me, damage you more 3) Damage me, heal friendly unit Better still if the AI could use it effectively.
Following this thread is more fun than playing Elemental. That is all.
Possibly to see how you did it? Personally, I really liked your recruitable monster mod, but I probably won't try it until the AI can use it.
You know, this has to be one of my favorite threads. Honest situation reports that include what the internal line of thinking is on a given topic reminds me of why I like your company. I'd still like to see a couple of low-cost-high-reward modding functions added for FE, but appreciate that you want a fun core experience above all else.
Sorry guys, it's disappointing on this end as well. Our first priority has to be deliver a solid, fun core experience. When we've accomplished that, it will give us the opportunity to flesh out the other parts of the game. As you all know, the launch of Elemental was rough, and being a small company means its impossible to address everything we want to at the same time. Jon
Yeah, that's di
Hmm... have you tried messing around with the EffectDelay tag (maybe a negative number)? It's an outside shot, but the only thing that comes to mind.
Yeah, I agree. I understand that this isn't a top priority, but hopefully it's still on the list somewhere.
To continue with my philosophy of only addressing posters that are willing to engage at a more than superficial level: Also, what about the dinosaurs? If the Bible had said: "You won't believe this right away, but, one day you will discover that before I tried creating Man, I messed around with giant lizards. You'll find their bones eventually," then I wouldn't have any problem with believing. It's some food for thought.
