Nope. Also, I agree with you.

I agree with the OP. Gosh, this seems like a no-brainer.
Strong AI is a fantasy of tech journalists and sci-fi nerds (for the forseeable future). I'm as disappointed as you are, to be sure.
I did enjoy your first animation journal- animation is something that I know absolutely nothing about. In fact, I'd like to know even more about the process, to be honest. Like: how in the world do you define the positions of body parts relative to one another throughout the animation, in a way that looks realistic, without motion capture? Do you draw it all 'by hand'? How do you even come up with the sequences in the first place? Is acting it out in the office really the fir

I guess what I really found interesting about the interpretation of their data is summed up by the quote: "History doesn't repeat itself, but i
I can't wait until this comes out on DVD.
I came across this article today which I found to be very, very interesting. Even from a secondary source, it's pretty high-level (or was for me, anyway). But the author has done a good a job as possible in laying it out for a non-expert. http://blogs.discovermagazine
Man, who let all these crickets in here last week? Any ETA for 1.2? Interesting/surprising technical issues pop up while reworking the memory managing system? How about progress with 1.3? What was your thinking behind adding essence back in as a to-be-implemented game mechanic and then removing it again? What's the 'feel' of the internal build of the 1.3 patch? Et cetera. Come on, stuff your PR lady in the closet for a couple hours and pull back the curtains a litt
While we're on the topic, I don't understand why it takes so damn long to build a house. I finalized the blueprints two weeks ago, and it's still not done! How hard is it to cut some boards and put some nails into them? Come on guys, it's not rocket science! And I don't understand why it's taken the Pirates so damn long to win another World Series. They've had decades! It's not like they don't know what they need to do. Fix your pitching, up yo
Try turning off the outlines, if you haven't already. I think that's going to get you the most bang for your buck. After that, go for the usual suspects.
ACTUAL SIEGE BATTLES! Pretty please? ... I think that new spell effect types has been confirmed, at least.
R&D- Research and Design, the time spent checking out what the memory system would be like, how it would work and how long it would take to implement PoC- Proof of Concept, the trial to make sure the proposed system is meeting the goals we have for it We really don't talk in acronyms, I was just being goofy.
Yeah, it means that too, in some circles.

I like the music they took straight from GalCivII.
Apparently you are not a consumer in Economy 2.0. If you are a company you don't put out crap, and try to pass it for a game. I bought a game, not an investment. I am going to be so busy by the time that this comes out that I won't be able to play, that is why I am so angry. Why did they release it in the first place if they knew it was crap? It is bad business practice. Why are you defending it? You got ripped off just as much as I did
If you bought it before December(?) of last year, you'll still get the two expansions free. I don't understand how anyone can be unhappy about this, even if WoM isn't your cup of tea (it's not really mine, either).
I think that the scope of the expansion has been extended greatly, which means more development time. It was originally just going to add a few new features, and now is going to be pretty much a brand new game. From everything I've seen, it looks like it's going to be pretty f'ing good. Also, there has been a significant focus on improving memory management before adding new features to WoM, which isn't that sexy, but should boost your performance and eliminate OOM err
Those cities must absolutely murder your fps.
When I start playing again, this is definitely one of the mods I'm going to pick up.
Magog- I'm not exactly sure how I would do this? Is there some sort of application that allows video capture of gameplay? I'd be happy to put some up. I had previously offered any and all for inclusion with MG, but hadn't heard anything back.

At current, the player can send super powerful waves of units around the map for years without really resting.
Yeah, agreed. I personally wouldn't mind seeing a small, cumulative penalty to starting morale for ending a turn in foreign territory.
I like this post. I was going to make some humourous (to me) remark about it, most likely involving Mel Gibson and nipple twisting, but it turns out that I agree, and think that the the quote couldn't be more appropriate. So there you go, I agree with you and Mr. Griswold completely.
I'm sure that the people doing Murteas Grimoire would appreciate any new spells you can add.
Well, there are about three times as many new spell effects and particle effects as there are in MG, as well as newly hooked-up code. Although I do appreciate what they are trying to do, why would I want to merge a relatively large spell mod into their relatively small (but apparently good) mod? Harpo! Multi-elemental system
Yeah, I do too, KCZ. Unfortunately, there's only so much that can be done with the code that's hooked up, though. I don't know, look at it as a Band-Aid? I'll take that as a "no" for interest?
Hey all, I've noticed that we've had a lot of new faces on the boards, and I've (understandably) seen some grumbling about the spell system in the game as it stands now. I have a large-ish repository of new spells in a personal mod and was thinking of (re)releasing them. I have a couple questions, though. Since they haven't been reworked with the new modifiers added in the beta releases, it would be a little bit of work on my part to update them all, so I'm not goi
