I bought warlock and sunk a ton of hours into it. Very fun, very simple game. I can see a lot of elements were 'borrowed' from elemental though. After sinking a bunch of hours into it, I had to stop playing though. The AI is so weak and easy to beat.

Friend of mine owns the site - I agree with a lot of what he is saying. Says it could be a great game if the AI was better www.gameenema.com/2.shtml
The teleport spell should be sov only, it doesn't seem right that you can just jump your SoD around, seems to remove almost all strategy from the game really.
Yeah - it should be one of those 'game ender' spells the way it is now. Require 30 mana and one of each shard or something to tp your whole army. makes things just way too easy.
The problem now doesn't seem to be so much that the abilities are there, but rather that the AI isn't using them.
Perhaps, but since the enemy sovs are premade, most of them do not have organized talent. That talent alone gives a huge advantage in army mobility. Too huge imo.
There are some talents and things that are making life way too hard for the AI. Removing or reducing a few things would make it so the AI wasn't such a pushover. Please list the things in this thread you feel are making it too easy to beat the AI. What I think needs to go: The organized sovereign talent. It needs to go immediately. Also Teleport. This spell needs to cost a lot more. I would say at least 15 mana, but maybe it should even be 25. Right now i
Some comments on how to make AI better. I'm beating it pretty easy on hardest setting. There are some unbalanced things that are making life harder on the AI and should probably be removed: The organized sovereign talent. It needs to go immediately. Also Teleport. This spell needs to cost a lot more. I would say at least 15 mana, but maybe it should even be 25. Right now if I see a threat I simply teleport to my main garrison and then load up my huge army and teleport to the t
While I see all the pieces for a great game, I don't enjoy myself that much while I play.
I disagree - I think it is far more critical that the AI be fixed so that there is some challenge.
Seems like most of the faction talents don't work. So far for me these talents do nothing: Great Warrior Brave Influence
I've seen a few people post up some of their xml fixes for broken stuff, wondering if anyone has one for the broken faction talents? For example, I usually use Tarth. They have great warriors which is supposed to give +1 combat speed, and they have brave, which is supposed to give extra hit points. Neither are working.
Hi 1 is ridiculous the hardest level or is it extreme? Tried ridiculous and it was a cakewalk. 2 how come i dont have to spend any gold when I build new settlements? Are they free now or is it a bug? 3 Royalty units dont give any prestige to my citys, garrisoned or not. The basic idea for the game seems good and could be a lot of fun, but I feel that it still needs a lot of work, rushed release no doubt.
Didn't take very long... Save this as a xml file (e.g. Talent_golddigger.xml) in my documents/my games/elemental/units dir...
Hey thanks, I'll give that a try Edit: worked perfectly, nice
About the 1.2x skills, I would they would let you see the resource production of that city, rather than just say the city name has leveled up, which upgrade do you want? It gets really confusing sometimes
Hah, I know what you mean. I have been naming my cities with prefixes. Start with LIB if it has a library :)
if you play a game and do not find any gold mine, you are pretty much guaranteed to lose. Iron is useful, but gold mine is absolutely critical. Please change naturalist trait so u start with a gold mine instead of iron... or just add a new trait that gives gold mine.
You can raze a city, but you have to research it under the military tree.
Enjoying the game so far, but I am getting tired of clicking on every single city every turn because i am afraid I am going to forget that one of them completed a building. I need an overview screen that shows me all my cities, what they are building, and how many turns until it finishes. Something simple like the one in master of magic would be fine.
Quoting hamwise, reply 102Thanks for the update! Not a great analogy, no offense. When I pre-ordered the game, the page said the 24th. I had no reasonable expectation that it would be available before then. If Stardock failed to deliver on the 24th you'd be a little closer. Frogboy has been saying for a week it'd be an early release, and he said on Friday I believe that it would be this morning / mi
you could - you'd probably want to hire a few researcher npcs and have them raise up your adventure levels though
I really dug this flick - it had so much style and charisma. I did find though that the plot was a little weak - for such an original flick, I felt they should have delivered a more interesting storyline. However, from beginning to end the movie was a fun ride. I'd give it a 9/10 - best Cera movie since Superbad imo.
oops - my mistake. I was building a bunch of markets and I didnt realize they now cost 1 food each.
My bad - I didn't realize it, but I was building a bunch of markets - and I didnt notice they now cost 1 food! doh sorry for wasting time
so i've started 3 games now, and every time i end up starting over due to some food bug. seems like after a few turns my food goes down and suddenly i have zero food again, even though i havent built a house or anything that uses food. Anyone run into this or have a work around?
Digging the game so far, but I wanted to make some comments on the magic system, which has not impressed me too much. Few things: --There are not enough overland enchantments. For example, a good player should have enchantments like "Heaven's boon - all units within casters territory heal to full at end of turn" an evil player might have "Death's Shadow" At the end of every turn all enemy units in caster's territory will take X damage. Just one ex
