I love the achievement and nobility ideas! Both would definitely add more RPG-ness to the game. The civics I don't really care for. I don't want Elemental turning into Civ. But that's just me, so as long as it is an optional setting, sure.
I've been thinking over these ideas, and I'm still liking the title achievement and nobility systems. The great thing about the nobility system is that it cou

I also don't think a "co-op" ruling of an empire is going to work in a TBS/RPG game. Heck, it never worked in something as simple as Age of Empires unless you were playing with your wife or partner or clone who thinks exactly like you do.
I'm just going off of what Frogboy said, right now it's just guessing but
but it is our plan to make the “gold” version of the game available a bit early to those in the beta and those who pre-order will also likely get it a bit early.
This makes me excited!! I'm one of the people that thought beta was up to release, so I pre-purchased the game (boxed + download) and missed the beta boat a bit unintentionally. Glad the pre-order people are getting the same attention! :D

Just a place to brainstorm various ideas regarding EWoM's multiplayer. I didn't want to turn his thread about AI into a general discussion of EWoM's multiplayer, so instead I just made a new thread here. From what Frogboy said in the Elemental Dev Journals section..
Frogboy said.. It's a matter of pacing control. When you're the only one playing, you can control the pace of things. When
I've played Elemental in multiplayer. And at the risk of hurting sales, I'll tell you that I don't find it fun. I can think of ways it might be made to be fun in the future but it will require making it quite a bit different from the single player game. Some things that are fun single player are just painful in MP. So I'll say it up front: If you're buying Elemental mainly for MP, you're going to be disappoin

As I just want to download the digital version I might as well just order it on the 24th right?
I pre-ordered the option where you get the digital download AND the boxed version, so it's win/win in my book. I like having a physical copy but if it ever gets misplaced, lo
Well, Civ5 will also be out soon. Elemental and Civ5 holds lots and lots of gaming hours.
That's my thinking too, after EWoM comes out and Civ5, I'll have Dominions 3, EWoM and Civ5 to keep me occupied while going to college for my 2nd degree... I'm going to be quite poor while in school, so I need games that have a lot of staying power and replayability.

I agree, it doesn't have to be anything really involved, but perhaps an additional layer of civics would be great to have. In my above examples, they could even choose to not to include the ranking system, yet just have the Republic, Theocracy, Monarchy, and so forth for the extra bonuses/penalties.

This is just a place to gather my personal thoughts and ideas concerning EWoM, feel free to read it! I'll add more if something tickles my fancy. Achievement Title System In other words, your character can have the suffix title of "Roger the Great", "Roger the Holy", "Roger the Destroyer" or even bad ones such as "Roger the Coward", "Roger the Witless", "Roger the Weak", and so on. It might be possible to use Poser (the software) and it's stock animations to do humanoid stuff. I've used Poser before, but it's been years so I'm rusty, very rusty. Just talking in the sense of workflow and the speed of getting things done. But still, without actually looking at the game and how it handles animations I have no clue. You guys might have an easier time if you just made props.. for example, that winged exa

I can totally see a 'Oriental' version of EWoM, just add a few enhancements to make it feel different, change the graphics a bit, and add Ninjas, Geishas, etc. Some of the victory conditions could be.. Win Conditions Appease the Immortal Emperor and gain the title of Shogun through military might and uniting of clans. Eliminate the Immortal Emperor and appease the Gods of the East (quest/relics/ritual spell) to become the new Emperor.

Reply to City snaking in WOM Ideas
In the final version, cities can't even build on resources. You have to build on resources from the main map, not the city UI. The only reason to snake towards a resoruce would be to get it adjacent to your city so that your city walls protect it (a viable strategy but expensive).
I haven't played beta, so I wouldn't know this answer, but.. If we can build city walls, can it work in such a way that the more c

The game have a bone system to make the models animate? Or does the person have to do it themselves? I'm not in beta, not sure how they are doing it. Also, what file format (xxx.???) does it use?

125 Replies 424,088 Views

A pre-load option would be fantastic! I suppose they could give us everything but the core files, for example, so when the day does come we only have to download a little to make the game fully operational.

It seems like we all like the same types of games. I've been following V2 for a while now, still waiting on the reviews. Although, with WoM all other games are taking a backseat though.

Is it possible to pass your sovereign's immortality to his/her son or daughter? Perhaps your son is better suited to rule in your stead, and you figure oh hey, what the heck, you retire or whatever and give your son the reigns. This even possible?
I also wonder if I can make a graphic novel out of Elemental. I made one for GC, way back when with Star Trek ships, and wonder if they would be upset if I did one like it, except for the Elemental world. Might need to get the book (which Ill have to order online, since there isnt a bookstore near here).
It would be interesting to read AAR's (After Action Reports) for WoM, sort of like what a lot of people do for Paradox

I did a search on the topic, but never uncovered any information if they actually put in "Wonders of the World" in this game (I pre-ordered, but missed the beta date), all I read were people talking about it, and it seemed like it was many pro opinions on the matter. Did they? I thought it was be a nice feature, and it could also add a bit of flavor and spice to individual cities. If they have it where only one particular wonder can be created anywhere in the world and if you don't ow
