GCII was fun, but the best imo is X3 which evolved to X3 Terran Conflict. So many choices, so much control, so many options, a feeling of huge universe as well as active.

I LOVED this game back in the day.
As stated before, the bigger the better imo BUT!!! along with being bigger, each kingdom/empire starts out further away from each other. I like bigger due to longer more involved games, but a key element (no pun intended hehehe) is being able to really build up your own before setting out to conquer others. A map can be huge but if I run into 3 other factions on turn 10 the bigger map only seems to lessen the game experience imo.
The only thing I think that really would improve the tactical battles is unit initiative. Instead of simply maxing out weapons and armor and the size of the party, it will have more strategy knowing that lighter armor may even get two turns before a heavy armored unit gets a turn. For example the decision of not max armoring archers in order to have more turns or higher initiative. Right now I just max armor everything because there is no advantage not to.</
Yeah I was thinking probably in an expansion, but just not sure if it is still in the cards. Thanks for posting guys.
Does this mean it isn't? No one interested in this as I am? Hellloooooo out there .... [e digicons];P[/e]
I asked this question back in November, and I know there have been many changes and things happening since then, so I am curious as to if this is still in the plans. In tactical battles are there plans still to have unit initiative? Instead of the whole army taking turns, each unit has its own initiative and so each unit has its own turn for lack of better wording. I haven't read anything about this since I asked the question back in November, and I believe it will improve t
I'm just waiting for the tactical battle changes where individual units have a turn speed and alternate based on that. Just that will make the tactical battles and the overall game so much better. Unit inititive I know is a big thing, but it was stated it will be done and being a big task, it will have huge rewards imo.
I agree about the screen not moving to where the quest goal point is and would add that it seems there is no look at distance in terms of walking from the quest given location. For example, the "take the kid to the estate" quest. The estate will randomly be somewhere relatively close on the map, but many times for me it is across the water and you have to go halfway up (large map) the map to get across, then back down to get to the estate, then of course back up and down to get ba

The enforced stability once enjoyed by the residents there has been stripped away, and the streets are dangerous even during the day. There are reports of nearby systems exerting influence over the region, and working towards establishing a puppet government that would be friendly to their causes
First round get 1 in each but adventure, need caravans. Then just go 2-3 times in civ war and magic, need shard arcane research. Then go into civ and war multiple times, econ, housing, and farming along with weapons and armor By that time civ and war is about 11-15, definitely need archers, I'll go for adventure to get resources Then back between civ, war, and magic. I don't care about dynasty or treaties in diplomacy. I do not care ab
No, I think it is fine the way it is. I don't know if you had a gold mine or two, but try to build all of those tech and arcane research buildingd while trying to keep and army and equip your sov/champs without a gold mine. I always seem to run into money problems, and there is a balance, you can load up on tech, and sacrifice troops and equip for sov/champs or vice versa. I think the balance is fine. For me anyway, it seems ab

Geesh, I keep seeing posts complaining about the bugs. They said it is a beta, that means there are bugs. You shouldn't have downloaded it then and kept playing 1.09e. You were all warned. So please can everyone STOP with the crying, you sound stupid. Stardock didn't just do what other companies would have done and said FU consumers. We'll improve it in Elemental 2. They have a new guy on the scene, they are making it a new game, and so you

When choosing "Basic Game Concepts" in Heigmoney (sp?) it crashes. Also, I was able to build an archer with the longbow, but I didn't research it yet. Of course couldn't build that archer, but my champions and sov could buy it. I did check master archer for my kingdom, didn't check to see if both short and long bow are activated with this, I need to check. Either way, I could build an archer with longbow but could not train one, wasn't even available a
I have only played like 20 turns and one battle but so far so much better. I know really soon, but this is going the right direction for the first time since I bought this like version 1.04 or 1.06 or something, like a week after it came out. Been so long ago .... it is coming together .... i think I'm going to cry I'm so happy. Just can't wait for the battle initiative so individual units switch turns during combat, I know it is a BIG change and will be a w
