My game lags too Ashbery, I assumed it was to do with the many parts the ships were made up of, it seemed to be associated with loading the graphics for the ships. I played a game with the mod the other day for quite a while and saved but when I try to load that save now the game just crashes to desktop, anyone else getting that problem? I tried updating to 1.1 of the mod to see if that resolved it but it still crashes.
Please understand the AI is purposefully lobotomized so you'll get so sick of it you break down and play vs humans. Do not ask for smarter AI, you will get told to play MP: Sins of a Smurf Village
Please, this is not constructive.

Interesting. How do you navigate to this forum? I clicked on Forum from the Sins web page and I don't see a Beta Feedback forum, I just see a Rebellion forum and that is where I left my feedback about the AI.

Spotted some AI issues during a game that exist in the latest build 25/05/12. 1) There were some mines in some grav wells and when the AI attacked the well he left his fleet in them wells for ages and didn't send scouts. He didn't send a colony ship in to cap for ages but did a planet inbetween. It was as if it counted the mines as enemy fleet or structures and left it's fleets there to deal with it but as it didn't include scouts it never go

You don't have to tell me how there are unrealistic elements in Sins....christ....I'm just requesting a feature to turn off hands in space, big white glows on ships etc. I should have guessed saying realistic would get a nonsense response, I should have said cinematic.
You can influence which route a unit flys through when it is on the field, but if you set up a frigate factory to send them to a forward planet it automatically takes the shortest route no matter if you use shift while assigning it. bing able to set waypoints for afctories would be great, my ships have a habit of using pirate bases, enemy planets, dangerous neutral gravitywells and whatnot else as their regular routes. If I want them to live I'

If I was to nit pick about Sins I would say: 1) Can we change all the silly special effects. Like giant hands shooting away from my ship..this greatly breaks the immersion factor. 2) Is it really so hard to increase the diversity of the planets? Is it not done for a balance thing? Such a weird thing to not consider. We get moons now right? But they don't orbit anything so it's just a rock larger than an asteroid? 3)

I did not enable dilomatic victory, I never liked that condition, but previously unlocked teams meant the AI would sometimes make pacts etc with other AI even without diplomatic victory. Can't wait for the AI to be worked on, I beat the 3 hard AIs comfortably without much worry.

Hi all, just started playing Beta 2 and I'm falling in love with the game again. The AI empires never had any kind of alliance with one another with unlocked teams. I chose a 4 player game with each of us a different faction, is that the reason?

So I guess it came out around 12 or 13 years ago. It was kind of like Resident Evil in that you moved your character around in pre rendered environments but you controlled the sights of your guy with the mouse. He held 2 pistols and there would be 2 red lasers showing where he aimed. You were some kind of vampire hunter or something and there were different levels with different horror themes. I remember the one where you go in to a vampire mansion the most, you fi

You probably mean well, or you have just done a new module for your degree and like to show off some things you learned, it's hard to judge as an observer, but do you really think posting this in the General section of a game forum is the best platform for you to achieve what you are after? Even a pm to Frogboy seems more appropriate, although maybe just as unlikely to have impact. I guess the reason you were derided was more that fact that you look like you are assuming Frogboy
@Haree78 I find this amazing. You state that DW is "one of the best games you have played in recent times". This is incredible. DW was one of the worst 4x gaming experiences of my life. I'm not saying this in a bad or sarcastic way, I'm just curious to understand how a game experience can be so opposite. I thought we 4x Sci-fi Strategy guys would have similar taste. We after all have the same school right? Master of Orion and Maste

I guess I am lucky in that I didn't find the graphics or the User Interface issues enough for me to dislike the game. Underneath the tough interface (which is actually a pretty good interface now with the expansion) the game is superb, very complex but at the same time very accessible even from the beginning because of being able to automate so much. I love shiny grahics but I'm really glad that I am still able to enjoy a good game even when the graphics are 2D and basic like in
heh - well, I liked it. I get what you mean about most of the characters being unlikable (makes it all the more strange that I enjoyed it). I think it was mostly wanting to see more in the vein of BSG that made me like it so much. Seeing how the first cylons were created, the first skin job, the cylons belief in a singular God. All very interesting to me and not disappointing as it did explain all of those things.&nb

I'm like yourself trying to find a decent Sci Fi show. Sci Fi is interesting to me because of the setting but in general Sci Fi shows writing is terrible, throwing pseudo science in as plot devices and then just basing it around that. After Battlestar Galactica I found V to be watchable. Some terrible cheesy moments but overal fun and some good moments. Caprica was terrible, there wasn't one character that you actually liked, all mean spirited and selfish to a

How I would do mines: I would make mines a large entity, a mine field that is built or deployed at a slower rate than individual mines now. Once deployed they aren't visible to ships until they are close range and only targetable by scouts like now. Ships take large damage going through the field in chunks but this reduces the health of the field (unrepairable, well maybe by the ships that deploy the mines). Scouts can attack the field but cannot be harmed by the fie
