the saves work but elemental OOMed on me at turn 140 & did not create the zip as it should. and the game SHOULD have saved turn 140 but I will bet it oomed before saving and the last save is turn 135. harpo

also me, just posted my latest oom at turn 140, which is better than previous which varied from 30 to 100 turns before oom). my thought is that it is an interaction between ati drivers & elemental, but I also have not had any other programs memcrash on my game beast(b3), which suggests it might be a issue for stardock to look at. in testing on other of my computers I also have been having OOMs even on winxp 32bit with nvidia(typical oom error point is approx turn 270), but

I have ordered mine from borders online www.borders.com.au also angus & robinson and dymocs(sorry about the spelling but it is several years since I did any business with them as they closed the store that was only 30 km away and the next nearest that I know of is 90km away. harpo

just updated to 1.01 on my i7 w764 6gb ddr32ghz ati5850 started new game new custom sov on mega with 9 opponents at turn 39 ram use 1.56gb by elemental ram use at start of game was approx 1gb by elemental added err, saves & dxdiags to dmp zip harpo

and another oom on the same game about another 250 turns on same computer game config was huge map 9 opponent empire/kingdoms epic speed zip of dmp,save, dxdiag harpo

just finished downloading elemental release version 1.00 played a single game on win7 64bit i7 930 oc 4ghz 6gb ddr3 2ghz ati5850 1gb played to turn 390 two towns no caravans just finished researching for trade. ram use 1.6gb by elemental zip of save,dxdiag & reports harpo <

and that HELLection was the reason I was trying to obtain a copy before saterday so that I could gently de-stress and unwind with 10+ hours of exploring the updated game. the voting took me an HOUR waiting in a queue before I could vote and only 15 minutes to vote. frogboy & stardockers, a suggestion that might help with the identification & prevention of early releases could be to ask beta testers to checkout and educate their local game stores, and the reward could be that those that help with this could get the game a day or two earlier OR a upgrade eg from download only to box and download or boxed to collectors/limited edition. harpo

I have tortured some nsw store managers to find out that australia does not have the limited edition available, only the standard edition, so if you want the limited edition stardock is the only practical choice. and what is worse, each chain has a different release date jb hifi was told the 19th of august(and was misled by the distributor all interactive distribution), eb games was told the 9th of september(do not know, but suspect all interactive distribution) and game has the 30th

from my questioning of the three main game shop chains ie eb games, game AND jb hifi the ONLY version that is likely to be available in australia in retail is the standard version as there is only ONE product code for elemental at all interative distribution which is the confirmed distributor for two of the three and eb games stores have no idea who the distributor is for ANY of their products. the release dates given to me by the three are jb hifi was told the 19th of august,
