did that and even closed impulse, then told impulse now to check for updates which it said were none, then clicked on the message bubble window opened offering the update and asking to open impulse clicked on yes in impulse resumed download, but on first 3 it came in at 34kb/s in a 1.5mb/s adsl1, on the fourth it came in at 150-160kb/s, but this might be due to my transparent cacheing proxy. managed to play one game to first OOM with 1.06.19 on win7 64bit with ati 10.8 drivers

and I have another OOM win7 64bit ati and as usual it is on a turn with save game updated to 1.06.19 (and had a LOT of difficulty and time to download ie 4 hours for a mere 9.7mb on a 1.5mb/s adsl1 east coast australia) started a new game on map huge custom sov, kraxis empire with tree other kingdoms/empires on map played to tun 135 (note 1.05.16 got to turn 160, 1.05.16 with old ati 10.7 got to turn 140 so not as good as 1.05.16 as far as leakage) oom zip crea

I downloaded only 5.72mb before it went to retrying, also tried the pause wait a few seconds then resume, but no dice, just retrying. will leave the comps to download while I go & fix some customer problems harpo

chugasrevenge, the ONLY location for the update IS impulse . and as you are also useing the cross pacific fibres they might be the point of failure, but we are posting on the forum which is also in north america, so that buggers that idea, and my downloads are STILL at 73.5% harpo

I also have a similar issue, but I am only getting the retrying on all of the computers that have elemental installed. I have 5.38mb, 6.93mb, 4.65mb, and 4.83mb of the 9.43mb download, all of the computers are my personal property, mostly for software development & testing. harpo

I have looked at the err reports and it always seems that the OOM happens in a save. might be worth while to look in the code that does the saves. harpo

just one suggestion for the bonus/weakness page to do with resizing of window, but this might be currently beyond your programming ability, ie if the window is either streached or maximised could you increase the size of the container for the bonuses/weaknesses? harpo

I also have the issues with ram & sound dieing about 2-4 turns before OOM with the latest drivers, but am able to play for a lot longer on 32bit, so from my limited testing it appears to be a ram leak relating to memory allocation request to OS and not release by requestor, and as 64bit OS supplies twice the ram address space per request due to 64bit vs 32bit the 64bit OS computers will see it far sooner that the 32bit OS computers. each of the patches(elemental patch added

and another OOM from me with 10.8 I got to turn 160 , but noticed after tha ram use got to 1.5gb that the settler & caravan trianing buttons were black. in my experience the ooms in the beta were about the 100 turn point, so the release versions have improved the situation by 60 turns, BUT compaerd with the 32bit oom situation getting 300+ turns before oom in the beta it

kyro, the fact that we have nvidia people getting ooms suggests it is an unresolved memory leak either in elemental or between elemental, havok and the sound system. I am suggesting the sound system as I had played a single game back in beta 4 with sound off and it did get further than s similar game with sound on, and also havok might have a compatability issue with the ati drivers which the 64bit amplifies. harpo

yes the saves do allow to continue, but I did have an issue back in b4b at approx turn 395-400 would not play a single turn after loading the save without OOMing every time. from memory I posted the same turn in about 6 ooms before I gave upon that game. harpo
