which race is the sov? I do not have any problems with men, and have not tried trogs, etc harpo

my guess for the final letter code is az, as I suspect the bugs have a really good hold in the engine and will NEED a huge amount of 'bug spray' to remove them, BUT would like to be wrong. harpo
I also often get a re-boot(BSD type restart) with a crash of 1.11 on xp32 bit also, BUT on win7 64bit no reboots yet harpo
supremeshogun, it must be related to the links for the image that the website gives, as I have had no issues with links from my dropbox using the download file link pasted into the tree's link address. harpo
supremeshogun if you want the pic to be visible in the thread, not just a link to a page that shows the pic, then click on the tree icon when posting and put your link into the dialog that opens harpo
Just gathering some more information to try to track down the issue... Can someone who is having the 1.9GB update problem hold down the Shift key and right click on Elemental in Impulse and select 'Verify Installation'? After some calculating, you should get a prompt that says "Elemental: War of Magic is installed correctly."
made no difference for me on my THREE large downloads, nore did the running the ml
Anyway, I am wondering if the problem lies with the update relying on the default installation path for Elemental? I don't have any games installed on my C: drive, nor Impulse installed within Program Files on C:, both reside on the same drive as my steam stuff, though obviously Elemental is sitting within the Impulse directory.
on all of my computers( 4 that are elemental compatable)impulse, elemental AND other stardock source software are in their default paths, BOTH
the only areas that I 'lost' with the update was units (including the BOOK units) and races, the other areas of the mygames/elemental are untouched including the saves, the same as 1.10 did, BUT as I had already copied the files onto a usb stick , for me it is not a huge deal, just a frustration harpo
frogboy, on one of my FOUR elemental machines it was only 4.26mb as an upgrade from 1.1d, BUT on the other THREE machines it was 1.91GB EACH, and all four had been verifies & running 1.1/1.1d, and have posted details in the impulse size download thread. harpo
zargon, in my four computers with elemental installed AND verified to 1.1, three are reporting 1.42gb download size during download, I cancelled the three, the fourth was only 4.2mb (the small download machine is winxp 32bit 4gb ram nvidia geforce 7600 amd x2 5200) the THREE LARGE downloads are (win 7 64 bit ultimate i7 930 oc 4ghz 12gb ram ati 5850, win7 64bit ultimate core2quad 9550 oc 4ghz 8 gb ram ati 4850 and winxp 32bit amd x2 6000+ 4gb ram nvidia 8800gt). harpo </
additional system crashes happend upon loading save game and playing on and attacking monsters & ruffians in a tactical battle usually just after my unit fires an arrow from a yitheril bow first one again NO zip created as system re-booted , manually rared the debig.err, dxdiag & save games folder <a title="1.1d display
playing a game in 1.1d on a amd x2 5200 4gb ddr2 winxp pro 32bit nvidia geforce 7600gs(driver version 260.99) system, at conclusion of battle before summary screen sound started looping and locked up and after approx 5 minutes the display went to sleep (note NO screensaver/power management settings enabled, the screen normally remains operating unless power button pressed), and then the computer re-booted, had a similar crash a few days ago but the display driver had crashed. &n
thermodor, can you send me some of your lobsters, I used to have no shadow when living on a farm, but after moving to town gained the chin and roll, and to me YOU are a baby. harpo
I used to be without shadow, but have built up to a single chin and roll harpo
the keyboard shortcuts are on page 37 of the manual that came with 1.1 and there is no key mentioned for restore default view angle. harpo
theserg, from what I remember the campaign in 1.1 disables the teleport so that is no longer an option, unfortunatly harpo
frogboy is working on the ai issues, and the experimental ai in 1.1d is able to cast spells, and to reduce the frequency of the oom crashes there is the laa trick that allows elemental to use upto 3gb of ram compared with 1.5 gb without the laa. regarding the raze a city issue, there is a tech in the warfare branch that does add raze, there is also the earthquake spell as well as the volcano, but I also have to agree that you have given a fairly detailed and fair statement abo
what you could do is in the nearest town train ONE peasant then send it to the the other faction, the caravans tip was from before 1.10, also you can design your own 'pioneer' unit with a 'pioneer pack' so that you can build towns where you want, not just where you are given a pioneer.(this is another way to pass the barrier as influence will pass the barrier, it is just that teleport is not available so can not teleport past the barrier the boats are gifts from the LAST (tarth
even sending a caravan to the city will trigger the gifting of ship & troops. harpo
sorry frosty, but I am having the OOM on machines withboth 1gb of video ram and on machine with 256mb of vram, and it is more likely that the cause is memory leaks in the cpu ram data than in a video card ram, and I do use the lowest detail settings as well. harpo
I have a 'working' elemental 1.1 and have been seeing missing materials in every debug.err that I have looked at since beta 2. the forward slashes indicate that there is no strings in the user mods area and indicate the prefered path to a mod's strings, but it looks for ANY str file in the mods folders. I also had a similar glitch back in the beta's on a geforce 7600gs, and also have had a similar effect with a unit that had a different skeleton to the usual for the unit race,
unfortunatly we all seem to get the dreaded OOM, just different map sizes and number of factions & system hardware determine the frequency of them. all us customers can do is keep posting the dump zips and hope that the dumps are allowing stardock to find the actual causes of the dumps, as the dumps tend to put us IN the dumps. harpo
heavenfall this is another rewording of the LAA, and yes it does work for allowing longer ram leaking & therefor play, BUT it does NOT fix the ram leaks. my guess would be that sd would enable this switch WHEN they have beaten all the ram leaks harpo
is this happening in the SAME city? harpo
drat, from what I remember about the ati radeon 2100 it was intended as a lowend but movie capable video card for home cinema computers from about 3 years ago. it might be not able to support the game as it might not support particular features that the game wants, and I did have a similar effect back in the beta with a geforce 7600 that now plays the game ok. harpo
