in my experience it DOES use the abilities, but not for the extra combat moves except in battle ie autoresolve does not even LOOK at movement/action potential and assumes ALL units have TWO combat moves ONLY, but battle does use all the movement it can. harpo

I also want more types of battles than the one army against another army with one army(usually the defending) getting a health bonus. I also want the tac battles to have a MEANINGFUL terrain difference for the defenders eg post walls, low,medium and high stone walls with a gate in it with the defence area being higher but shallower(altitude for height number of squares from edge of defence area to edge) harpo

sounds good, but it might also help the city spam issue for the influence range to be more like 2^city level(ie level 1 still 1 range, level 2 4 instead of 2,level 3 8 range,level 4 16 range and level 5 32 range), rather than the current which appears to be influence range=city level, as you can see from the example ranges I have suggested the bigger the city the ENORMOUSLY better the resource grab range which also reduces the NEED for lots of small cities to grab resources. har

I have had inns and pubs break the pops also, and when the offending building is demolished, you only get the BASE pop back NOT the actual used pop, so there is this HUGE pool of vanished population(in my current game the missing pool is 13000/8000 or 5000, which forces me to research food and housing improvements ONLY) in limbo not working or being taxed, but costing food and housing and preventing all other development.
