The "not enough interest" excuse has never stopped IGN from reviewing any number of low-profile indie titles, so I don't know why it's stopping them now. Good to hear that Gamespot is taking interest, though. It may be enough to spur other sites who don't want to get one-upped by the competition. Let's just hope they give it a fair hearing.

It doesn't make sense to me for influence to be resource that can be gathered and spent like currency. It would make more sense as a sliding scale that affects your diplomatic relations and overall "health" of your empire.
I have never heard of this site. Why are the high profile review outlets ignoring Fallen Enchantress?
The other day I decided to write a review to help spread some positive feedback.
This could backfire if it gets the attention of internet trolls. The Metacritic user score will hit rock bottom in no time.
Can someone explain what map stamps are?

Not perse that it has better graphics but the stacking of units in civ 4 was the biggest issue i had with that game. Seeing a huge blob of units on the scteen is more satesfying that a stack of doom. I like the idea of more immersive AI rather than cutthroat AI that'll kill the player at the first opportunity.

Is the OP for real, or is he just a trollin'? Heck, if we're going to eliminate pork from the game because it's "offensive" then why not eliminate the exploitation of animals entirely because it could offend vegans and animal rights activists?
Other reviews haven't used the phrase "lack of focus", but most of them have mentioned that the disparate elements don't necessarily mesh well together, which essentially means the same thing. There's no one thing in FE that you can point to and say, "This is what makes it a great game!" In general it's a good game, but it needs a stronger role playing element or a stronger civ building element to really make it stand out. Pick one thing to be the prim
I agree with a suggestion I read elsewhere that the goal of the AI should be survival and not trying to beat the player or win as quickly as possible.

It's looking like Stardock can legitimately add "critically acclaimed" to Fallen Enchantress' resume. Scores in the 80% range are generally considered excellent for a niche game like this. That said, I do hope that Stardock is taking the rather unanimous "lack of focus" criticism seriously.

I think the problem at the moment is that AI plays very aggressively to win and will take down a weaker nation (usually the player) at the first possible opportunity, which doesn't really lead to the best experience for the player. I'd like to see an AI that is more responsive to the player's actions, like in Civilization 5 where it is actually possible to play as a relatively peaceful nation and still have a fair chance of winning the game. That doesn't seem possi
What concerns me about advice like this is that it makes it seem this is the only way to play when there should, at least in theory, be multiple paths to victory even in the very early game.

So when you see a tile that says 4/3/2, it is adding up all the tiles around it to get that number. That can't be. If it's the sum of surrounding tiles than how can a tile surrounded by several 1 essence tiles only have 1 essence itself? <br
