I love most Paradox titles, aka Euro Univ 3, etc- Also check out Empire: Total war, total war's in general if your machine is ok. And some fund trading games, like Patrician, and the newer East India Company. EDIT - and apparently this: https://forums.elementalgame.com/370273

Well if it's not in vanilla the RPG-esque system and mod ability should make this a snap to implement (Though I imagine they'll have quests to get certain higher-level forces on your side).

" don’t want to sound like the game has some sort of utopian vision behind it" Too late man, too late. Expectations. They're here. I'll give you 5 years. Tops. (Course im back to playing EU3 MMP so I'm happy to wait..others may kill me).

It doesn't show who is allied with who, you need to use a spy/some sort of spell to find out (possiblity of failure of course). (You can choose to have it announced to all players though). I think multiplayer will keep this game alive for a while so please people post your ideas to make it the best it can be.

I already decided long ago (Well weeks) not to buy it with all the BS. I still love COD4, aka MW1, with some hardcore mods and user maps it's still awesome.

The Orange Box - YES Risen - Pretty good so far. The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion (I've heard a lot of reviewer praise, and a lot of player criticism) - If you like generic 'RPGs' (Lots of killing stuff though) Fallout 3 - Not even half as good as the old ones, not really an RPG, fun action game though. EVE Online -I like it but as a powergamer I hate the design Company of Heroes - Good little game Edit: Burnout Paradise - Good for crashing stuff. Sims

Well, being normal peasents some would probably run as soon as one of them died, and i'm thinking they'd have no 'real' weapons but scythes/hoes, etc. Also I said "I fail to see how the organization has to do with the reduction in #'s," anyway I need to actually work a bit now.

I think it would need some drawbacks, like not being able to destroy it, only able to build one, and if an enemy captured it they could steal some of your essence. EDIT- And perhaps do more if they held your tower for long. Destroying it would also cost the creator essence.

I fail to see how the organization has to do with the reduction in #'s. Neverthless I stand by my inital statement. 20 peasents would quickly realize they want to gtfo of there fighting two, platemailed/warhorses, multi-weapone'd knights. Well, probably 14 of them...

Well, not to be picky (But im going to be because im bored at work) but I think 1,000 knights would probably utterly destroy the 10,000 peasents morale well before numbers began to tell at all...now 10,000 fanatical peasents..

Also it's mostly economic, if you have more wealth/magic resources, you can control more/better. Economy is always key in a good strategic game. Also i'm at work, work nights, heh.

As long as upkeep costs are balanced things should work out. Just another part of normal game balance. Although in these types of games usually QUALITY wins out over quantity, if only because magic can give you immunities, etc. EDIT - In conclusion, balanced armies win wars! EG- if you have a bunch of awesome powerful water elementals that destroy most armies and they come accross some hero/unit that resists well their primary attack they're all dead.
