Havok would have a lot more usage if the battles were real time. Also, limitless battles and powerful heroes/creatures are (probably) easier to balance with real time. By that I mean ... real time (or total war) battles always seem to be more flexible. Huge Monsters, hoardes of small units, powerful heroes ... real time is the current champion of large-scale battles. (and small-scale too, if you count continuous turns a-la Baldurs Gate an

Brad, I'm not a rabid fanboy. I've been critical of Elemental while at the same time aknowledging the game's immense potential. It definitely seems like you are aiming for the right direction. I can't wait for 1.08, and I'm very much looking forward to 1.1, 1.2, etc. Keep up the good work - it's the reason I did not even hesitate about getting a refund, even though money is very tight. I believe in you guys.

Stardock did not develop Demigod. And seriously, stop blaming Brad personally.

After an epic battle for my capital, my wife died. Seeing as my only heir was a daughter, I had to give her away to another dynasty. Apparently, after your wife dies you can't remarry. Am I just out of luck?

They're not showing all the digits. You most likely have the latest patch. To be sure, use the refresh button at the top right of Impulse. If it doesn't mention any newer patches, you're good to go.

I'll go to MSConfig and prevent any program from starting on my PC. Hold on. Edit: Disabled every program that would normally boot in MSconfig, to no avail. This must be much more frustrating to the developers than to us. I'm almost considering buying a new computer seeing as I want to enjoy Elemental so badly. Considering Elemental itself was only a tight fit in my student loan budget, that's out of the question.
Quoting SuperTimo, reply 83I tested it, and the same result here: Elemental isn't using my GPU, so my poor CPU keeps having too much to do I've also got Intel CPU and Ati Radeon HD 5770 with the newest (10.7) drivers (on WinXP 32bit). Very strange, maybe it's the drivers indeed? But strange that the problems happen to Nvidia users also... Not using the GPU explains why changing graphic settings has no effect, right? Alm

Every debug.err I see here shows you running at very very high resolutions. Go to options and try lowering the resolution first. It's not the resolution. I ran it at 1280x1024, got the same problem at 1024x768... I think the above poster had a good idea.... the graphics card is n

Switching to 64-bit will likely not get rid of screen tearing. This is usually a V-sync setting, which this game seems to lack. However, you can manually turn V-sync on in your video card configuration panel.
I would rather they have delayed the game a day or two until it's ready than release something that was not. Don't say it's coming out on the 24th, put out a version number greater than 1, and then complain when people expect a finished product.
I've never seen Stardock employees complaining about us expecting a finished product.
That would explain a lot at least... But can't believe it could be true.
Well, I can't believe it is done intentionally of course. But I've seen instances in games where it was simply bugged and it was fixed in subsequent patches.

Almost seems as if the processor tries to render the 3D objects instead of leaving that to the graphics card, for which it should be a much less intensive job. Just brainstorming, I'm not at all very technical - just a long-time gamer. I've seen instances where games did that.

You see the same cloth map if you have cloth map-only on. If you've turned cloth-map only playing off, you'll see this when zoomed in. https://www.elementalgame.com/media It's really quite pretty. Great issued raised. I myself don't have much of a problem with the lack of a tutorial. However, the other issues (especially the performance issues) raised are definitely somewhat game-breaking. That said, the core of this game is fantastic and you can see very well that it has been Stardock's labour of love.
