Ok I just tried to change the order.. The problem seems to be in the SOL system mod add on.. If I load that at any time BEFORE any other mod or part, it crashes. I can load all the other addons and the main mod last no problem.. But if I try to load the SOL mod before any of those it ctd's. However if I load all the add ons first, then the main mod package and then load the SOL mod as the final mod ONLY, it loads. So it does not like something regarding
It does matter as to how you stack the mods. It best to go from biggest effect on the bottom (aka the base mod) to least effect. Unfortunately due to the fact that our mini mods are a bit ad-hoc in nature (some started out as someone else's, used with permission) there may be the occasional error. You may have to get your hands dirty sometimes to fix them. The string not found issue is an easy one to fix with a quick use of Notepad and copy
Sounds like how ever you have stacked the mods the string file for the new capital ships is being overridden. A quick fix would be to move the string file from that mod and put it in the base mod string file.
OK I can remove them and reinstall.. What is the order I should install them to correct this? And does it matter the position in the mod list window?

Having an issue.. just downloaded and when I try to install, it errors out when I try to use the SOL System add on... Any suggestions? EDIT: Ok got it to run... except the new capital ships all show "string now found" in the dialog... so far not able to fix it.. I have the base mod and all add-ons except harder pirates.

I decided to do some testing.. First I decided to increase the ability for the EXE to use more memory and now have a modified exe that allows for addressing above 4gb. That made a huge difference in stability. Then I again added the mod plus some of the add-ons. The crashes started occurring when I added the mod add on for resetting the large ships/dreadnaughts, I started getting crashes again. Right now I use the main mod, the additional research addon an

About a month is best for most people. Here is why. I teach people how to survive under different conditions including climates (summer, winter etc). First, if you truly want to set yourself up with a survival/emergency kit or bugout bag as it is also called, here are some tips. 1) If you live in the city, only get what you can carry! Only carry what you can run and escape with! Have a plan to leave WITHOUT a car because highways WILL be blocked.. if

LOL NCIS? What the heck do they have to do with this? First off I am not active duty anymore, I was retired in 2011 due to my 7th service connected injury. Second off I have said NOTHING that is or could be taken as classified at all. What I have talked about is public release knowledge you can look up via Google if you would take a moment. NCIS? You watch too much TV I am afraid. They only have jurisdiction on ACTIVE duty U.S. Naval per

You do realize that not everyone who is online is lying right? That some people might just actually be truthful.... Anyone can say anything anytime while online. That does not mean that 100% are not truthful or not actually telling you factual information. I stand by my remarks. I DO have access to data and information that 99% of the people do not have. Additionally, a project I am involved in has people who have even more access than I do to li

Sorry but you are way off in your assessment of the possibilities of what 'could' happen. Here is why... First you obviously pick a computer hack or virus as your primary threat... just not possible. Someone would have to hit so many different secure systems all at the same time including hacking through firewalls at the same time. Today though, most of those systems are much better protected... plus they are all now pretty much set with protocols that wil
Quoting MalakieUSN, reply 779 Just a note about the previous crash issue... I have been running the game with your mod since altering the exe to accept >4 gig ram... Not a single crash has occurred since. Not saying it works for everything or everyone, but it is for me so far.. Game is running MUCH more smoothly as well now, not so laggy. Possible but that does break
Quoting MalakieUSN, reply 770 I tried doing what you said... Still seem to catch the CTD once in a while... tried new clean install, same result. Also went back to normal clean game and no CTD's yet, only after activating mod... will keep trying to see if I can tweak or come up with some pattern since I know this will be near impossible to find being random like this...
Quoting MalakieUSN, reply 765I cannot believe the devs would not have been smart enough to update the engine to 64 bit knowing it could not handle larger/huge games then... Basically for the effort involved it would have been easier to make an entire new game. Perhaps it would have been doable for Stardock but the engine was made by the much smaller Ironclad and they seem to like keeping control over it.
Quoting MalakieUSN, reply 760If there is a way to help find it I will but right now it just drops to desktop, no warning or requesters. Are you playing with ShowErrors set to TRUE? If not, then there's a chance that there is something in the mod itself that's causing a crash; E4X isn't a big mod in terms of pure size, so it shouldn't be running out of memory, esp. not 30 minutes in.
Random crashes are almost always caused by running out of memory. And most of the time these can be fixed simply by reducing your graphic settings. Highest quality settings in particular do not seem to play well with mods.
I have 16 gig of ram and over 2 TB of data storage open.. Watching the system it averages about 2 gig in ram use even in huge games that I have been playing.
Quoting MalakieUSN, reply 753Ok missing something... I see the links to download the 1.6 addon and galaxy forge, but where is the link to download the actual full mod itself? I have 1.5 but cannot find 1.6 Afraid you had an awkward bit of timing. Just a couple of hours ago I uploaded a hotfix to correct some of the small problems with the 1.6 versions, and rather than releasing just a pat

I guess the fact I got no discount because I went through steam is an issue. Paying $40 to me is for buying a new game, not an enhanced version of and existing game. I have been playing and the strategies I used before work now just the same. Titans, in my opinion, are useless as I seem to have no problem taking them out with a standard fleet. They die pretty easily. I would think Titans would be something hard to kill, about like a starbase and would have a hu
