Nobody should take Windows 8 seriously. Why would anybody replace Windows 7 with 8? If anything, 8 should be treated as an experimental, secondary OS installed on a secondary drive on a secondary machine. If you want to get any REAL work done, stick with Win7. I bought Win8 ONLY because it was $70. It seemed like too good of a deal to pass up, as full versions of Windows 7 are north of $200. I'm only going to install Win8 on my SECONDARY desktop PC. I wouldn't dare take a chance on ruining my beautiful, highly-customized Win7 setup. My primary machine will still run Win7 for a long time. So even if Windows 8 sucks, it's still a win-win for me.
I'd prefer chicken over pork anyday.

UI aside, why does the new Office default to SkyDrive? What if I don't want my documents to be saved on some strange, remote server and want to save to my SSD instead? My first PC was an IBM Aptiva desktop from 1997. I don't know the specs, as I was only 10 at the time. The hard drive was SO "GRINDINGLY" LOUD compared to today's more efficient machines. Not to mention it got super hot within an hour. It definitely did not have efficient cooling.

Today when I first booted up my computer, I got a message that Tiles expired. I even paid $10 for additional features for a product that I thought was indefinite. Does that mean i'll have to buy Tiles AND the features over again? If so, Stardock's ripping me off. Or do I just buy the program and all of my paid features will still be there?
This may be a little off topic, but I remember how excited I was to buy Windows Vista when it first came out. All Metro "apps" could of easily been ran in Desktop mode instead. If Microsoft wants it's butt-ugly Metro interface, they should develop a separate Windows Phone 8 instead. So, why doesn't Microsoft take the smarter route and make two different main versions of 8? A PC and Moblie Version, instead of integrating everything into one product?
