I'm not particularly active around here, so it's not like you'd know me, but thanks for posting this. I can relate to almost the whole thing (except the being 'wildly successful' part). I guess it's nice to know I don't need to be chasing that - it won't help... ;) I've been working with diet, exercise, and mindfulness for a while now. I can't bring myself to medicate again, but I p

Right off the bat, Maul shouldn't work against units larger than the bear... think about it. Pretty easy to do, make Maul ineffective against any unit larger than the bear, or that is immune to being knocked prone already. That implies their size/strength is such that they can break out of it. I rather think a bear ought to be able to Maul an archer to death if he closes the gap. :)

Humperdink: I think your bluffing. Westley: It's possible, pig. I might be bluffing. It's conceivable you miserable vomitous mass, I'm only lying here because I lack the strength to stand. Then again, perhaps I have the strength to stand after all. Inigo: [to Buttercup] Help him. Buttercup: Why does Westley need helping? Inigo: Because he has no strength. Humperdink: I knew it! I knew you were bluffing! [Inigo points his sword at him] I k

Coming from someone who doesn't like to invest a ton of time in TV... My wife will watch much more than I do, and she knows if it's something I may have an interest in. I've abandoned more series than I care to count after one episode, because I can't sit through it if my mind goes somewhere else. Anyway, top 4 in this order: The Wire Breaking Bad Arrested Development Deadwood</

A 4X game where eXploration actually matters? I don't know, if you are looking for a clean break, does the Elemental tag (as others have said) suit you? Maybe call it Fallen Enchantress: War of Magic. It's the 'magic' and 'war' that us players are looking for, the Elemental matters only to Stardock as a franchise name, and then you still have some continuity while outlaying a sense of what the game entail. I guess that all really depends on th

Not blind, I saw it this morning, too. Showed some cool new terrain work from FE, but the post is gone from the front page now. It's still up on youtube, though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lv0PIxLTM18

I'd argue that not only is it not dying, it's absolutely essential at this point... AAA games aren't likely to take too many risks with new ideas or new IPs. You see this all over in the tech world nowadays, large conglomerates buying up smaller focused technologies, and incorporating them into there overall package (look at the last few years of Oracle or CA). Sometimes this is a good thing, sometimes the act of acquisition drains the talent and effectiveness

I think the race customization, with tech and appearance, is probably expansion fodder. Look at what they did with Twilight of the Arnor, and the tech trees there. I doubt they are ignoring it, and since those that have already purchased get a couple of free expansions, I'm hoping it will be there, too.

Hey all, I'm one of those players that held off until 1.1, and just started the game again. First game last night on easy, just to get the feel of it, and it's a lot of fun, tons of stuff going on! My question: Is there a way to make a 'permanent' custom sovereign? I created one for my game, but then when I went to start a new game, he wasn't there at the selection screen. I'd like to be able to make a couple of my own to use, and not have to go through the com

StevenAus has the right idea, I think. Have the AI default to the same level as the world difficulty, then you can tweak it from there by opponent if you wish...
