Inns can be better set up. Rather than have so many of them, maybe have inns be permanent parts of the map like resource patches. That way, if a player builds a city near an inn, they can get a bonus from them and also get quests every now and then automatically. In general, I think having inns, estates, and other quest locations be a permanent part of the landscape would be more interesting than having them disappear after a quest is completed.

I had the other faction's sovereign stuck in my cities and unable to build cities of their own.
I agree with lwarmonger. Rather than provide that short-run benefit, they should also have a longer-term plus. Providing a bonus for slums would make these negative prestige places much more attractive.
Yeah, I think champions need to be more specialized. I think all champions should start out as generic 'adventurers' differentiated only by their attributes and personal traits. These champions should be able to solo against weak monsters and have a bonus to their movement as well as the loot gained from finding goodie huts. As you level up, you can have them become a certain 'class', like 'warrior' for fighting type champions, 'merchants' who would travel around other cities, 'wizards' who c
Post bugs in the Beta forum.
Buildings: Right now, I'm basically focusing on building very specialized cities. One city has all research, another one has all food, another one has all money. That way I maximize the effect of granaries and what-not (I think... not too sure if that's what's actually happen). While this is all good, what would be better is that if we build a slum next to a market, then it lets us do something special, like hire spies or assassins or maybe get certain special quests. That way we're e
When you get the quest to help the knight, you can either help him or take the sword. However, when you take the sword, you still get the reward for 'rescuing' the knight even though you left him to die.
When I zoom out to the cloth map, sometimes it CTDs. The Error Message is "DX Error: Invalid Call". Here is the link to the DxDialog. http://pastebin.com/NhBaSWRD
After zooming out, the old buildings disappear, but the town and new buildings still show up.
Quest information doesn't all fit in the box.

(running Vista) I go to \Documents\My Games\Elemental, but I don't see any debug.err files there.
I also can't find the debug.err file even after showing hidden files. Using Win7. Also can't find the memory dump... I really want to help out with this bug reporting, but I'm having a little trouble...
Awesome... I'm finished with school after today so... [e digicons][/e] happy times are here again
Yeah, I've eaten four packets of coffee-sugar biscuits while refreshing the page with sugar-covered fingers since this morning.
Well all this is hypothetical. I mean I'm rank #11 and I haven't done any spamming at all. For those in the top 10, maybe a couple people are spamming, but I think that's why it's good to have this kind of community counter-point going on in the forums: those who would think about spamming to get more points would feel less inclined to do so if it was publicly known that they were doing it. Since we can all click and check on what other people are submitting, there is a certain kind of shame
Very excited about this. I can't wait to participate in the Beta!
What if points were added at the end of each month for karma and posts? The forums participants with the most posts and karma at the end of each month and those who have posted the most often, that way it's not just a bunch of posts in a single day, but continuous participation over time?
Actually, I think this is a terrible idea, marketing wise. People are going to wonder if positive feedback about Elemental is being driven by an honest appreciation for both the game and the company making it, or merely for the mercenary goal of acquiring points to get free stuff. And that's never a good thing when your entire business model is based around appearing honest and seeming interested in the opinions of customers. [/quo
Once selected they will then go ahead and charge you for the game(you haven't been charged yet), and send you a CD key. Am I correct in this? There's no selection. All pending orders will be charged through and granted access when we open up Beta 2.
That's the kind of no-nonsense answer i was looking for. I'm off to preorder now and look forward to trying beta 2!
sweet, i think i might be able to run this on my laptop!
