I have a dual boot of win 7 and win 8.1 preview.......I still prefer 7...... but must admit that blue screens are less likely on 8 or 8.1.....my biggest issue with 8 or 8.1 is getting rid of aero glass which should have been left as a option.........

most everyone probably knows that they can do a right click on the Recycle Bin in order to rename it something else. In my case It's called "Toss Out City". Are there any other iinteresting names that can be used instead of just trash? [e digicons]:D[/e]
Now this does look like light years beyond awesome!!! Your skins have stretched the envelope and i am so curious to see the final result!!! Light years beyond cool when it comes to style and desigm! Keep up the most excellent work......
Hi folks.....I have noticed a trend toward minimalism and away from the glass when it comes to skinning. I admit that I am missing the glass type skins and would like to see more.....but then again perhaps there's a limit on what one can do design wise.....Neverthless I do appreciate the time that skinners take to create and design their skins.......Thank You!!!!
This is just a suggestion......It would be nice to see a glassy style theme.....I have in mind a futuristic city of crystal.......a diamond city with elements of transparent gold.......may not interest anyone but it sounds promising........
Hello everyone! I have just uploaded 2 wallpapers, one of which is Mac related and the other references Windows 7. Feel free to check them out! Take care and have a great fourth and a great following week. Take care! [e digicons][/e]
Thanks for the heads up, and have a great weekend yourselves. [e digicons][/e]
Too bad they appear to have eliminated the colorize feature, which was in either all of them or just live mail in the current gold version. Now, if they tweak the new beta and add the colorize feature just before it goes GOLD, then I will of course upgrade. But for now, I really doubt it.
The same thing happened to me this morning! Last night, before I went to bed, I shut the computer down. Not just to go to sleep, but a complete shut down. Needless to say, I was not too happy about seeing 2 copies of WBVista.exe running in Task Manager. I knew then and there, that If I were to try to apply or change skins in Windowblinds, it wiould a classic fail. But I thought I would do a reboot, and see what happened. After I rebooted, and checked the Task Manager, there was
Strange. Last night, I shut the computer down. But before I did, there were 2 instances of WBVista.exe running as processes. I was beginning to think maybe one of those was a trojan or something. This morning, when I booted up, just for the fun of it, I checked the task manager, to see what was up. There was only ONE instance of WBVista.exe running. I was surprised. Because I did a reboot before to get rid of the extra process and it did
Well, I redownloaded and reinstalled Windowblinds though Impulse. However, I still have the same problem. I tried to apply the "Morph" skin, and it did not work. It took over a minute as I watch the word morph and then WB wimped out and left me with the default Windows Aero. Now what do I do? And I still have 2 instances of WBVista.exe running! <span
Very Strange. Task Manager would not allow me to end the process of the bottom or top instance of WBVista.exe Very strange. Very Bizarre. [e digicons]8C[/e]
Well, I thought I had done a Unload Windowblinds. Then I rebooted. Tried again. Same issue. I had the default Aero and could not reskin and bring System into the Morph skin. Checking the task manager just now, I find 2 instances of WBVista.Exe. Most Interesting. I will do a test, kill the one on the bottom of the 2, and see what happens. [e digicons]:D[/e]
June 8, 2010 is the last time I updated Windowblinds 7.0. Because of the update, my version went from 7.0 to 7.1. Also, I wonder if installing Safari 5 from Apple has anything to do with my troubles? I doubt it, but it was the only recent software that I have added to my system in the last week or so, if my memory is correct. [e digicons]8(|[/e]
For some reason I am not able to change skins, or to apply skins. It takes a minute to process a change, a lot longer than normal, but then WB wimps out and leaves me with the old skin still applied and will not let me go back to default aero unless I unload windowblinds, which takes me back to classic. Normally a change or an apply should only take perhaps 15 seconds. It even has 2 skins going at the same time, which is really really rea
I have switched to a different way of trying to make my desktop look a little like a Smartphone home screen. It isn't a perfect replica, but it will do. Instead of using a particular gadget that I was looking for, but couldn't seem to find again, I have decided to use Rainmeter! Taranbeer, and Homescreen Rainmeter are a couple of skins that I am using. There are also 2 iphone date a
Hi folks, the thought occurred to me that if there is a question about the Superbar, in Windows 7, you can modify the taskbar to make it more like Vista. That should solve the problem with Morph, in my opinion, unless I am mistaken about something. Just a thought. Myself, I didn't notice any problem, and I am running Win 7.
Hello everyone. I know I saw it on Deviantart recently, but I cannot find it again. It is a really cool gadget for Windows Vista and 7, which can make your windows desktop look kinda like a Iphone or a Mobile 7 Smartphone. I wish I knew what the name of it was. Let this be a lesson. If you see something really cool, take notes. You might never see it again, if you choose not to download it.
I am really enjoying using Windowblinds 7. I was looking for a Longhorn skin, but I cannot seem to find one to my liking. They all seem to be missing something, or something doesn't seem quite right. There is a visual style you can find on Deviantart, called, Longhorn Aero BMX or is it BXM? Anyway, that might be my favorite Longhorn theme, and it would be nice if someone can port that over to Windowblinds. This
I followed Stardock's support idea of using a special zapper tool to uninstall Windowblinds. I am then asked to reinstall through Impulse. But I seem to keep on getting a stupid black windows command processor window when I try to reinstall Windowblinds. And it makes no difference whether I run Impulse as an Adminstrator or not, I cannot reinstall Windows through Impulse. I can only do it outside of Impulse, but then it won't install properly. There are times when I really dislike Vista. Perh
Just now I tried to uninstall windowblinds 6.3 with impulse. I couldn't do it. the Command prompt windows came up and I saw a second or 2 of black.............it would not uninstall with impulse. So I uninstalled without impulse, and tried to install it again with impulse. Same problem. This is beyond frustrating. I have never had problems with software like I have had with windowblinds 6.3. Here's a report from dxdiag sytem info report: System Information --------
That's weird. For some reason my vista system will not let me run the command prompt as ad adminstrator. It's grayed out............Ok.........any other suggestions. I'm at my wits end........my fault, still, I wish I knew how to fix this.............bummer
Unfortunately, that was one big mistake. I should have made a restore point before I tried that system change that messed up Windowblinds. I can't even tell you when the date was, only that it was probably last fall, probably around the middle of October or slightly later. Can't do anything about it now, that's for sure. Unless I am mistaken.
Hello. Well, I checked on the status of my ticket, and followed the instructions. The path for windowblinds is correctly installed, so I didn't need to change anything in Regedit. So I downloaded Impulse, did a verify. Impulse told me that Windowblinds is NOT installed correctly. So I tried to do a update, after making sure Impulse was running as an administrator. Nope, cannot do a update. So at this point, I am awaiting to hear what Tech
