Wouldn't that be cool if it was a delaying tactic - sadly, you can start as many fights as you want in one tile - BUT isn't that a cool thought ? *hint hint* This has been an irritating issue for me for the whole beta - I just don't know why the ai isn't combing armis that well, or having so many units on one tile like that - it's a weird behaviour i can't explain. I wish the ai could tell me what it

Is it in the cards that we'll eventually be able to move through areas occupied by other units/outposts/resources of those we're at peace with? To examples below. The first one went on for roughly 25 turns. The pioneers in the picture never moved, preventing my heroes from exploring further. The other is worse. The only l
Two bugs in regards to World's End. Neither killing Vetrar, nor clearing all of the zone causes the border to drop. You can never setting the area. The second one is weirder. In the image below I've circled a square in the center of World's End, right next to where I killed Vetrar. I've lost three pioneers as they walked through this square. There are no monsters or enemies. I've walked my sovereign through the sq
The tooltip of strategic wellspring and the effect don't match up. Wellspring says "targeted army" but anytime I cast it, even though I target another army, it only affects the army of the caster.
There's some wasted space on the city tooltip in the empire tree. Any chance that space can be filled with whatever is currently under production in the city? See below:
This isn't so much a bug, as just an observation. Did the Boots of the Spider event. Finished the big battle, got the boots, and then was greeted with the following (the full red circle is one group of 6 that I killed before I thought to take a screenshot): I have no problem with this actually. The unintended consequences of the que
I attacked an Empire hero and her guard. My attack gets the hero down to 1 hit point. The hero proceeds to haste and cast berserk and die. At least she went out on her terms. Maybe my Sovereign was just THAT intimidating.
My level 25 sovereign and his level 8 trainee, in a fight against a Stalker with 12 attack, 0 defense, and 18 hit points (see image). I hit auto-play, my Sovereign uses his first two moves to cast Burning Blade, which he already has on himself as a strategic enchantment (though the trainee does not), and to cast Giant Form. A few things are wrong here: The Sovereign has his full 121 hit points and can likely one hit, or at most two hit, the stalker to death combined wi
In the economy ledger screen it shows you your heroes and the cost for your heroes. However, under description, it only shows you your heroes level if they are in an army group. If they are solo, the description field is blank.
This is only for the beta. The release version won't have the internet connection requirement.
I was just fighting a war with another faction. My Sovereign is invading on his own. The enemy has hordes of spearmen that they're sending at me. The first group was 3 spearmen, as was the second. The next turn I start moving towards their capital and I run into solitary spearmen units, except that the AI has four such units standing in the same tile. Instead of forming an army of four, which may actually damage my Sovereign, they're all alone, no
My next project:
Unless I'm missing something, we're only supposed to be able to use strategic city enchants like Inspiration once on each city, correct? If that's true, then someone forgot to tell one of my opponents: Checking in the city info screen and it shows 2 of each as well.
Just two weird things I noticed in the spiders tactical AI behavior in regards to web. Not specific to .912, though I have seen in there already. So a spider and I are fighting one on one. Why on earth does it waste a turn where it can reach me and get first attack to throw a web. It's just the one spider and my one unit. They have to close to melee and web doesn't have any affect except immobilization. When I have more than one unit in t

I think someone said that it only looks like it does but you can actually build other things at the same time. Either way it is confusing and shouldn't show up in the queue. I just checked. It's true that it's mainly a UI issue. Whatever is up in the build queue that is not the resource also gets built. Good to
I can live with it being added to the build queue, it is being protected by city walls at that point. At least you can wait to build that if you desire. The real problem is the rebuild - when your city builds up to an already producing resource, and then that resource gets added to the city build and built all over again.
I can't. The reasoning doesn't make sense. So taking 25 turns and no build queue slot to bu
When a resource is next to a city and you build on it, in the case of my current game an air shard, it gets added to your city's build queue as if it were another city improvement. When a resource is not right next to your city and you build on it, it does not get added to the city's build queue. Like any city improvement, the resource must wait its turn in the build queue, thus negating a fair amount of a good start location because you're best city location may lead
Am I missing something or is it not possible to see the blood traits when you are creating a custom faction? If it's not there, probably worth adding at some point. It'd be nice to know what each race brought to the table.
I think it's a case of people looking a gift horse in the mouth. I think it's beyond poor taste for people to demand wholesale changes of the game and then when the target of those demands resists to try to use his good faith and sense of honor/responsibility against him. Is gamer entitlement so extreme now that people think that the CEO of a game company should promise to consider every idea, no matter h
It's interesting, and I'd love to see that in a mod. But Stardock's in late beta, tweaking existing things out.
I'm curious. What do you mean by this?
As an additional aside I see a lot of people agreeing with me that cities need more specialization and uniqueness while Stardock keeps saying cities need to be smaller and look more the same. Why the big disconnect?
I don't think there is any disconnect. Brad has, in various posts, mentioned parts of the Beta4 city plans. I may be wrong, but here's what I remember from the various posts on cities. &
I suspect that Stardock's idea of game balance is to remove everything that is fun. They certainly have managed to remove most of the things I found to be most fun: the Sovereign General Corrodius, the Aura of Commerce Spell, free developments early in the game, 3-move units, large armies early. Strength, Dexterity and Constitution are things I can relate to; the replacement values I have no intuitive feel for them.
So in between turns one of my units is attacked. At the start of my turn I fight the battle and win. Now my screen is positioned over the person/army that just won the battle. However the unit auto-selected to move first is frequently NOT the unit on screen. It's a unit somewhere else in the world. Except that the game, due to the battle, just moved my camera over this unit that just won the battle. So the natural inclination is to assume that this is t
