I have always thought (and continue to) that tile proximity should have an impact. Placing a pub next to a gallows should result in the pub being less effective, but maybe the gallows doing better (especially if the government is hanging drunks). From an engine standpoint, it would require that each tile knows its 4 nearest neighbors, and respond accordingly. I'd also like to put forth the old post here:<br
Glad nobody voted terrible :p
80$ ? I don't remember it was this expensive.
Results updated :D
Any update on plans for the poll? Again, I think this has a lot of potential, and would hate to see it go to naught. Stardock SHOULD have a new poll like this on the front page, updated after every patch, and tracked to see how their actual customers think they're doing. It doesn't hurt to see what people think is the biggest problem. A more collaborative environment, where new ideas are encouraged and built on top o
Ok, i updated the results with the last two voters and it brings Improve city system and improve regular units tied at the top with 25 votes each. We could go and comment on ideas to improve those points but its already been done over and over. Better to wait for the next beta update, THEN I WILL MAKE A NEW POLL! In the meantime, I'd like to have feedback about the poll. How could i improve it; what did
When writing AI one has to look at all the players, not just the one. For instance, how to you make early game rushing be costly to the player? Well, one way is to have it affect their relations with other players. Because, as a practical reality, I don't want every player to have to prepare to be rushed early on. It should be a strategic CHOICE of the human player to try to do that but one with definite consequences.[/quo
I love a villain or an ally with personality. I'm not sure if you've discussed this one, but each faction leader should have some kind of theme song to play when you converse with them and some kind of jingle if they "comment". When I say comment, I refer to something like a small dialogue box that pops up and says "Don't think I haven't noticed your pioneers on my border, Froggy." I do believe I've seen
What i always wished to see more in strategy games AI was some Randomness. Starcraft 2 seemed to have some of it when i played against the AI. What I mean is like, one game the AI decides to turtle up and defend from an expected attack. Next time It makes an all out and go straight for your city while neglecting his own defense. Potentially dooming itself, but also potentially ruining your plan or you game.
To me, city build zoom view is only useful when landscape feature such as mountain are obstructing the view. Otherwise i do not feel like it really adds to the current city system.

I totally agree with the keybinding options. Its something I feel is always nice to have, whatever the game. But I just would like to give you a tip about posting. Make your title more specific so we know what your post is about before opening it. Especially in a post like this that is very short and specific. Title could have been ie: [Suggestion] Keybinding options.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 47 Quoting mastroego, reply 40 Personally speaking, I'm not real interested in listening to people who think we should jetison the tech tree or not have mana in the game or whatever. I'm glad our community is welcoming enough that people feel comfortable posting these ideas. But it's not as if something like that is going to even be considered. D
Quoting Lantros, reply 35 Nearly all the complaints I read from people are things that have to do with balance even when people don't realize it is balance they're actually complaining about. This are exactly my thoughts, when i read most of the complaints. Sometimes it "drives me crazy", because i can´t participate in the discussions, because my english is not good enough for such thing. <br /
Results updated!
you should try to get this stickied, if enough people vote
Thanks for the suggestion but its probably not worth it since I plan to start a new Poll once we have a beta version with substantial changes to it. Likely the next one.
Awesome! Someone voted for 9 and someone voted for 10. Keep the votes coming, ill be updating results tomorrow before noon.
But being a game designer means making choices and explicitly deciding not being all things to all people.
Amen.
I guess its time for me to vote as well . :D 2 : Certainly not a favorite of the poll without reasons. 5 : It's gonna happen anyway and i expect it will influence all other factors, so better sooner than later. 11 : Because of course i would like to see my personal list of annoyances fixed :p
Nectaris is also the original Japanese name for the TG16(Pc engine) military madness. :p
Sorry but nope, i think that would suck. I like it when my champions are rampaging through enemies. It just needs to be better balanced with other things. That's my two cents but according to the poll results so far, it would seem that making regular units more useful and interesting is preferred by many over nerfing champs.
This is too true!
Indeed it is! But it is also true that crazy OP champions are cool. This is why i support the idea of having Upkeep attached to champs, this way you need to have a good economy to support them.
yeah also stop with these complicate argues about champions, the problem has been addressed in like 234343242 threads its totally useless to keep proposing things over and over again, lets wait the next balance pass on champions and from that point we can judge
Amen, I stopped reading this thread at this point.
I really like this "X's list of ...." type of post. :P I cant find much to disagree with in there, although im a bit skeptical on a few points, especially the resource limit. If i understand your example with 20 metal i could get say, 20 metal using units ( like each swordman uses up 1 metal ? ) Ive not played Civ V in a while, Civ IV is the best civ for me :p And ooc : Is your name by any chance a reference to the legendary PC-engine game ? ( damn i c
