They deserve every bit of criticism they get, and then some!
Actually, they don't. As much as "fanboys" are lambasted, I'm here to expose unbalanced critics: Elemental is not bad. Elemental is very good and is riddled with problems from the launch, which was bad. The criticism for that is totally valid, but then we have our typical unbalanced critics, ready to pounce...spouting catch-phrases and two dolla

Okay, I'm going to extend the diamond metaphor: say you are in the market for a diamond. There is ample evidence of what a cut, polished, dazzling diamond is. Now, this is the latest of its kind, this diamond. It is, however, a raw diamond, just rent from the ground. All the potential, it's all there; there's no denying that. It's all up to your preference -- the seller WILL cut and polish this diamond; it's a matter of time and there will be no hidden costs or foolishness. <br

Yeah, that was AMAZING to wake up to...I must have scoured my reply a dozen times to make sure I didn't get my address wrong. The army was great fun, and congrats to all winners! My only regret is that there are a couple unfinished projects...I'll post them when they're done, though. I absolutely cannot wait for this; an upside of the wait, though, is that a good round of patching will be done before we dive in.

My goodness, man! This is evil, sheer evil! But so, so good. Finish it! Finish it all! Tomorrow! Wake up early and do nothing else! I want a full AAR on my desk tomorrow night, detective! I squirm in anticipation of this game! Teasing me with this stuff...you know how to get to me. EXCLAMATION MARK

Based on my extensive experience with many EB outlets in Richmond, Vancouver, and Langley(all BC, for those not in the know)...don't expect Elemental to show up here for a WHILE in EB. If ever. EB in Canada is one of the greatest fails I have ever seen. Don't mean to be overly negative about it...but I highly suggest other ways of procuring this game if you're Canadian.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS! YESYESYESYESYES I have not been this excited for a game...well...ever. Not since the golden days of yore. Congratulations, Stardock! I hold you in the highest regard and have no doubt that this will be all that is promised, and nothing short of fantastic. It will truly be alive, it will have a soul, and that is what I miss in most games now. I'm excited to see where you will take Elemental after release, as w

This idea contains UNLAWFUL AMOUNTS OF AWESOMESAUCE. I would play this so much. I think it would work very well, too borrowing heavily from the mechanics of the Pokemon games. They wouldn't have to be THAT modified to fit Elemental's structure as far as I can perceive it.

Excuse me while I go scream like a schoolgirl in excitement. Honestly, I'm impressed with the...is "Hustle" the right word? That makes it sound rushed to me...but it's not. Oh, well, you all know what I'm talking about! I think it must have A LOT to do with the game engine; honestly, it looks SO impressive. I'm very excited to work with it...nothing could really ever get me that extra step into modding, but it looks like Elemental just might.

Agreed...and the elimination of redundancies sounds like it also gives the ability to specialize with the variety of things available to you instead of doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over before you cna really get into the variety. It should neatly sidestep boredom and make cities quite interesting. I personally greatly dislike the whole "build more farms" thing.

I'm with Denryu -- one of the great things about this game is that it's "alive;" it's not just putting you at the controls of some contraption. Such a system would be "stripping it down to the mechanics," and that's bad. I don't want to be "going to work" when I boot up this game like if I boot up WoW or X3 or many other games. I want it to be our intelligence at work -- if you kill this guy, there will be consequences; his friends will hate you and probably want vengeance.

I agree, but I think there will be a problem if tactics can easily beat excellent strategy. Knowing Stardock, however, I trust fully that they will "get it right." There is one thing I'm afraid of, though...heroes. I'm afraid we might not be able to treat them like units. In HOMM5, they auto ran away and such like that. They couldn't be attacked, like they were disabled and in need of protection -- that's what such a thing is, a disabling. I want heroes to fully be part of the tact

Hi all! Have you ever run across those "where are you" maps that you can stick a pin into and then everyone does it and you see, say, from where in the world SEARS customers have come? That's what I want to do here...I've created it and added myself, and I want to add you, too! What I need to do is enter your e-mail address into it as a collaborator, and then you can add yourself and bring in whoever else you would like. It's just like refer-a-friend in t
