It was after a fair number of turns I guess. Probably over 100. I must be building up stuff badly. I have hit level 2 towns.. but didn't make it to level 3 last game. I also do start my main town near fertile land, but hard to find a second.. so I build them near other resources, to grab them before everyone else and their dog do.
I must be doing something horribly wrong, because on novice I keep getting my butt kicked. Its hard to find decent resource squares, and I end up surrounded on all sides by other kingdoms/empires, and I apparently can't make troops fast enough, they declare war and roll on through me. It's getting pretty frustrating. I know already I'm not great on stragety games, but usually I manage on the lowest difficulties. Any good strageties I should follow?
Is there a way to change the difficulty in the campaign/story mode? I only wonder because I enjoy fantasy based stragety games (another big fan of MoM) but frankly I suck at them. I know when making a new sandbox game you can choose the difficulty, but if you can't in the campaign mode and if it eventually ramps up I might just stick to sandbox games instead of wasting my time on the campaign. Of course it's still a bit difficult for me figuring out how to do what and
