First, as I said, this leak has been around since day 1. Almost 1 yr later and it has not been fixed. Sorry ..no excuse for that. Secondly, I can't include a debug because this "out of memory" crash doesn't create one. I am not the only 1 to complain that it this leak is making this game unplayable. There are a lot. Therefore fixing the leak to make it playable for all those that purchased the game and can't play it should be a priority. NOT making an expans

What's with the continued memory leak/crash after all this time?? It's been present since day 1!!!!!!!!!!!!! Instead of adding new things, how about you actually FIX problems first!! I have 16mb of ram. I should never and have never had a memory problem, except with this game. It makes it completely unplayable when you get a out of memory crash to desktop every 3 turns late in the game. Get off your lazy asses and fix it.
Keep in mind, Stardock is also making us pay for their 3rd party warehousing to ship it out. If they wish to 3rd party warehouse, then this is a cost STARDOCK should bare and not the customer. The customer should ONLY pay for the actual cost of the physical shipping. (jus
Sigh. Yes I'm playing a custom race as well. You'd think they'd realize people would make custome races and add a query to see whether your race is men or fallen. I hate having to mod games to get them to work ...even if it such a simple mod. Sadly, I know very little about modding.
Yes, I'm playing Empire. Only thing I can think of is that I'm playing a custom Sovereign. Other than that......
Are these still broke? I have yet to be able to build Sions any time I've built the temples. They are all in the heart of the town, so they are appropiately "linked". Perhaps I'm missing something?
The OP is not far off the mark. I've started a few games since the patch. I get several resources near my starting point and then nothing else anywhere for at least 750-1000 squares. Rare is one thing ....non-existant is another. There is no reason to build anything beyond your starting city (without modding). Also since 1.08, the spawn rate for mobs is whacked. Kill a bandit and another spawns in the same spot next round. Kill that one and another spawns. Mean
The boxes are shipped by a third party fulfillment center, and unfortunately they don't do it for free. The shipping charge doesn't just pay for USPS's share.
Your customers should be informed of that at time of purchase. (And not in some hidden fine print) This is not the first piece of software I've had delivered. It is the first to cost so much to have delivered though! Almost triple of any other piece of sof
No offence intended, but you guys in the Americas should be glad you even have a choice. We in the UK (and, I suspect, most of the rest of the world) had no choice but to pay for the game to be shipped from Stardock if we wanted a boxed copy. If I could have wandered into a shop and just bought a LE myself, I'd have done that.
Most Canadians had very little choice either. Most big box stores here in Toron
I just got mine today as well (Sept 14th). It cost Stardock $8.93(US) to ship it. With exchange we'll say an even $10. So the $20 delivery fee was INDEED a ploy to pocket money they did not deserve.
Nothing here in Toronto either. Strange that many Australians got theirs already and we haven't when we are practically next door! The wait is definitely NOT worth the $20 shipping fee. Have to ask ..why the hell did Stardock ship them USPS?? (snail mail). I've ordered other games to be delivered and had them delivered UPS and FedEx and almost 1/3 that charge. ($7.34 for the last one) Stardock is doing a
If your Sovereign starts out with enchanting ,you may also almost immediately (1-2 turns in) start learning the enchantment spells available.
This is in the Video options. I can't see that it actually affects anything. Exactly what is it intended to do?
Some of the "heroes" are worth hiring if you are fortunate to have several of the same type of resource in a given city's influence. The farmer's with +20% are quite useful in a city with 2 or more food resources. The miner's with +20% are useful in those cities with 2+ mines. Adminsitrators with 20% bonuses are also good for upping the material output of your city. (park them in the one with your Great Mill) Some of the adventurers are also good to have. Nibaljdi (sp?) for i
Once again the purpose of my post was to question whether or not researching this tech is supposed to reveal these resources worldiwde or not as described by the research narrative. If it supposed to as described then this is a bug. If not it's bad descriptive writing. Personally, I don't care if it only rev
What they didn't tell you is that it's shipped USPS (regular mail) rather than a courier service like UPS or Fedex. Sadly, that means anyone outside the US may be waiting a while for their delivery. The delivery fees are rather outrageous as well since it's snail mail. Could probably have sent it cheaper by other means.
I've pre-ordered the limited edition on July 10th. I found it a little bit weird and unintuitive to find my order history. I became worried at game launch, as I received no feedback: the site doesn't say anything about my order status, nor I received any email. I've wrote to and received an automatic reply, asking my to wait until 2 business days for a reply. Two days passed, no reply. WHAT'S GOIN
Oh I get stuff. but it's only in my area of influence. The purpose of my original post is to find out whether or not researching this technology is supposed to reveal it in the world to your faction as in the description or not. If it is supposed to reveal it worldwide and it isn't, then we have a bug. If not, Stardock has VERY bad writers. :P
If it is the case that it researching these technologies only reveeals a few limited resources, then Stardock should seriously fire their description writers. The way it is written is VERY misleading! You could be investing research time more productively.
I'm curious. The descriptions for these technologies read as if they reveal lost mines, food sources etc worldwide to your faction. However, once researched, only reveals those in your areas of control. Is this as it should be or is it a bug?
The AI's units also need to be able to change target focus more readily. I can and have ran a 500hp unit around the board that was focused on 1 unit while a cpl of "heroes" with longbows slowly whittled them down. It took a while but I was able to defeat them. I can also guarantee with 95% certainty that the attacking mobs will exclusively target my summoned bear, making it easy to use it to lead attackers around by the nose. The only time they don't, is if another of my units
Civ 5 comes out on the 21st of September. If you like the Civ series you could always hold off for that.
Same. Have had this problem constantly and am running with 8 megs of ram
I`ve had the opposite problem. I hear the ambient sounds fine all the time. (Birds chirping, rain, footsteps etc) However, music and other sound effects tend to quit for no apparent reason. Not the first post on this that I`ve seen. Hopefully, they patch it with the rest of the stuff.
It's not quite the same as adding a "default" button, but you can reset all the options (sadly can't pick and choose which tab) by deleting your prefs.ini file in My Documents\My Games\Elemental folder.
I get the crash as well, whenever I attempt to load a game. Have to exit the game, restart it and then load the game. Right now, with all the game crashes, this game is just frustrating to play.
