Free updates are free. Why give away what you can sell? This is basic business sense. More complex business sense, which is generally lacking, would lead one to the conclusion that a loyal fan base is worth more than a one time purchase, but reasonably priced downloads aren't a ream job. The ream jobs themselves, that's called stupid moron with a degree in business thinking his customers are utter fucking morons, or thinking the get everyone once philo
psychoak
That's nothing. Major chains switch to central planning all the time. Just go into Walmart and ask them why they don't follow the local seasons like anyone with half a wit would do, instead of selling lawn mowers while the snow is still on the ground in the north, while waiting a month past the growing season in the south. These monolithic dinosaurs for retail chains would mostly be gone or bought out by someone with half a wit if Uncle would get the fuck ou
Using higher resolutions and having LOD control on textures is part of the same package. Zooming out is essentially the same operation as decreasing the resolution.
Here , watch the episode.
Yep, Steam got hit by the normal growing pains as users outpaced their network capacity, and instead of expanding to meet the requirements, they let you deal with it instead.
That is level of detail.
Unicorns can be neutered randy monogamists. Then the game wont be cliche no matter what else they do..
:( Some times I forget that only Coke has permeated the entire planet. Places without Walmart just don't compute.
Meh, the jury is crazy, the judge is crazy, the lawyers are crazy, the RIAA is crazy... I think I'm noticing a pattern, but it likely has nothing to do with the world being crazy. At least it's funny at the same time. Edit: Fucking hell, that's the last time I go back and moderate my language in a repetative fashion like that, I missed them twice!
Your post reads like you're talking about one thing, but you're replying to something else, so I'll make two replies. Assuming you're talking about adjacent forces in tactical combat, which is the subject I was on: Go read a warhammer rule book. :) With modern computing power, it's not a chore to run them the real way in real time. I'm hoping units will be made of actual units, and not just representations of a number
That also depends on what a turn is. If each turn is an attack round, a likely event, you're not talking about five minutes of walking or spinning in place. You could easily be talking about 20 seconds.
So you're going to kill him with Cylons, Ninja, and Borg...
Odd, no idea how I pulled that one off... Math is my strong point too. :(
50% for a 90 isn't too high. That's about right for maintaining formation. It's not the simplest thing to get a bunch of guys wearing armor and carrying pole arms to change direction while maintaining formation.
I've seen ~7km/s for ICBM velocity, that's over ten minutes for a thousand kilometers. Even from Alaska, it would take well over an hour to hit a target on the east coast.
If an AI ever does become sentient, we're hosed... It's sure to exterminate us just for the hell of it.
Don't worry, I have a strong stomach.
But then cities will require essence to found, yet could be made useless by a stripping of the local resources, only to find them elsewhere. Any such movement would need to be well managed depending on the system for resource utilization.
Only post, yes. Most people don't differentiate between posts and replies. This nonsense started when crazy people started comparing Halo to completely different sci fi settings that weren't even close to the same technological scale.
Yeah, Steam has inadequate bandwidth. Even with a pokey satellite connection, they still aren't pushing out enough bandwidth to keep up with it half the time. Getting the HL2 updates was terrible.
If I didn't have such a negative view of my fellow humans, I'd have thought the same thing about the Halo goons arguing the inferiority of Star Trek technology, but MGS was pretty out there. I'd hope that everyone knew it was someone jerking their chain from the start, but there is that pessimism...
Taking Total War as an example. You're scramming for the border after discovering that the enemy has a few more troops than you thought, and send some junkers out to get in the way. They go oh shit we're all gonna die and break before engaging because all the modifiers to their morale put them negative without even recieving casualties. Shouldn't be too hard to do. The hardest part is designing a system where you can't just run away al
Yeah, a realistic real time war game would fucking suck. You just can't do anything but fudge the more insurmountable logistical matters. Oh look, the USSR is attacking the USA! This is so cool, the ICBM's will be here in the next couple hours! I can start my counter attack and come back tomorrow to see how it's going. I hope their land invasion doesn't get lost in Mexico, I'd hate to have to wait more than a couple days to start fighting them.</
Yeah, knowing you're a dumbass when you loan a friend money, and not lending it to start with are two different things...
You're over-doing the stupid stint a little too much. People don't even need to check your profile and see that you created the account just for this thread to tell that it's bogus.
