With larger and longer games Novaliths tend to come into their own; particularly when you have 10 or so as I have often done. Generally people tend to surrender at that point :P p.s. U can't colonize straight away after a nova strike.

What's outside the sphere of what is possible? With regards to what I am suggesting, this is all done by a 'games master' looking at the past games, recording progress and then rolling on tables using an actual die, whether thats a digital or physical one, and then updating the maps through galaxy forge accordingly.

awolfhk, yes that many pirate bases is an intended feature. However, I must make clear that these maps were designed as multiplayer online maps and not intended for primarily single player-->the ai is just not good enough to be competitive on these maps. It is just a shame that the multiplayer community is not 'mature' enough(i mean this in the sense of has not been established long enough)to play custom maps online.

Here is my guess [link="http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/04/stardockdemigod.html"]WWW Link[/link] :). Though i really hope it is more along the lines that Jdhas outlines :P

Most of the mechanics for the campaign are basically tables and die roles that determine what players get to start with on the subsequent maps i.e. control of territory and key systems would confer better tables to role on. As you can specify planets owned , structures and fleet compositions through galaxy forge, I would just update and re-release maps based upon the previous campaign stages. But as I said, I can't really do that until I know the game mechanics of the mod. Cheers!

Hi. I am going to split that map as shown in the following image. I will include the following imperial systems; Brimlock, Vengeance, Ichar IV, Sotha and Moracre. It will be very straight forwards to put the maps together, though I will have to wait till you guys are further along with the mod before I designate which faction controls what at the start of the map, and also the campaign rules to determine what players can carry across from dominating one map into subsequent maps as the

OK, I'll break down the Damocles gulf into a number of maps for a campaign, and include some of the surrounding imperial worlds.

Unheardninja, a 'mini dump' is not an issue, rather it is the report of the issue that caused ur game to crash. It is advisable that u submit ur minidump files to the devs, and even make a post in the tech forums. jfrutchey, open the galaxy file with a word editor and find the line that reads 'version' and change the value to '1'. That line is close to the top so is easy to find. Once the change is made select save. Remember, DO NOT SELECT 'SAVE AS'

Well if you take a look at this map of the 40K galaxy, you can pick out the areas that you want me to initially focus on and that include likely areas of conflict between the races you will initially be releasing. Blue_Thrasher, when you say you play tested the map and that your "computer was able to handle it" --> that may be because, as you said, you only have 20% of the map complete. For example, I could have a map with 250 stars though with only 30 or so planets, and that would play fine. The more 'planets' and in-system objects you add the greater the hit on FPS. Whats more, generally you can't gauge the fps hit unless u click surrender so you can view all the planets at once. Furt

This looks like a very fun map to play! However, you might want to think about splitting the map into two smaller maps. I say this because I have made maps of this size before and they are near unplayable due to poor FPS mid to late game.

OK thanks. I had assumed that the first campaign would depend on which races/factions you intend to release first?

Hi gents. First, sorry for not posting this Q/request at modcraft :P Could you guys decide which multi-player campaign scenario you want me to put a set of maps together for and direct me to the GW scenario maps?

Unheardninja, hmmmm I have not experienced this problem since a beta version of this map. This issue was down to my incorrectly specifying and setting up player starting planets i.e. I didn't set up enough. Please note that it is an 8 player map so specifying any more slots than that would result in the error u r experiencing, though only rarely as it randomly assigns u a starting position. Have you tried playing the map multiple times? If so do you always get this error? <br

Contrary to the OPs position, I've found Armistice to be a great ability under a number of scenarios; one being effectively disabling an entire fleet attacking an unprotected planet (i.e. my fleet not there), long enough to get my fleet back to defend. Second scenario being an effective ability to hold of an entire counter attacking fleet whilst my fleet is on the offensive. In this scenario I've used two Akkan's to practically indefinitely disable an opponent's entire counter attackin

Oh! As I don't seem to be able to edit my posts any more, I just wanted to add that at least this review does not read like a press release as do many of the other reviews scoring sins highly. If these latter reviews were essays submitted for marking, questions would be raised regarding plagiarism.
