Realize that anything you want to do in modding is going to be extremly time consuming. Anything fun to you is going to be 5 times less fun for the community (part of the fun you have is knowing you made it) And lastly, always have fun with it. Never treat modding as a job - something that you have to do for the community.
Bohemia Interactive (Arma, Operation Flaspoint, Arma2) has an interesting copy protection called FADE. Basically if the game detects it's running a cracked version it won't tell the end user, instead it will slowly (days, weeks) begin to change things about the game. Accuracy slowly getting worse and worse. Sometimes the player would turn into a bird.
Time to begin an epic quest where you slowly build up power than strike when he's weakest?
Except the majority of those people have only played it for a few hours. Give it time - bad news travels faster than good news.
Anyone who doesn't hate the game is a fanboy. Anyone who hates the game is a troll. ectect
I don't think you realize how much games can change over a 2 year period. There are many features that look amazing on paper (for example, their old income system) but doesn't work out well ingame.
Quoting Jeslijar, reply 60Plus theres the pirate factor. If a game does not require very strict DRM like ubi's awful requires-the-internet-to-play-single-player and a pirate gets ahold of a release copy, it will be everywhere. You can't really count how many people pirate games, but if a game is out there for people to download before its even on sale that has got to kill the sales. The only positive argument i've ever heard for piracy
I like the art style, but the ground could definitely do with some more 3D elements. If oblivion could manage this: http://i44.tinypic.com/2mzmcl0.jpg there is no real reason the tactical map couldn't do something.
http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30054 http://tesnexus.com/downloads/images/30054-1-1270773578.jpg (images > use
I might pick it up for a few quick mods, and use it to tweak my own game a bit.
I seriously wonder if they made Elemental just so you could make these :p
Oooo, I've always loved necromancers (d2, oblivion, wc3, ectect). I hope their numbers aren't limited too heavily!
2 players VS 8 teamed AI on a modded map to let the players turtle up Could be fun
That was close. The CD key is slightly blurred and there is too much light for it to be readable even in 780p on youtube. You guys should be carefull though .
Just remember there are people on the internet who would dedicate huge swaths of time to figuring that out. Don't underestimate them!
Couldn't it be modded in?
I'm loving that LE manual, still have homeworld's giant manual.
This is one of the many reasons why I love stardock, and why I got demigod (game itself didn't interest me) and the collectors edition for Elemental.
Quick, everyone reply! It's exactly what he doesn't want!
Not a whole lot, mostly forum goers with nothing to do until Elemental making Stardock fanfic every chance they get.
And if it was a fox interview ... oh dear! Will be ordering the limited edition in a few days, can't wait. With this, I will own every stardock game ever, and so begins my plot to take over the world - while having fun.
That was a lot more accurate and powerful than I would have expected
I've lightly been following elemental since the days of SoaSE. Reading the wiki and planned features made me amazed every time at what this game was offering. It has so many features that would make gaming news if SC2 or CoD adopted a single one. Stardock's policy (piracy/drm, customer base, updates) is another reason why I was following this. No other game on the market is like elemental. So some random questions I haven't seen yet on the forums.. 1 :
Quoting Frogboy, reply 6The beta isn't a demo. It's a beta. i.e. an unfinished game is a lot like trying to eat an unfinished pie. Not fun. Yes indeed. At times it even feels as if the baker is wondering if the pie needed more sugar or flour just as the timer on the oven is going off..
I have to say those two are amazing quotes.
The $10-15 is for priority shipping -- I wish there was an option for this. Than again it may be the only option for stardock to move so many packages about. Though it looks like NewEgg (great for US) does have limited edition. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832796010 I doubt you'll get into the beta unfortunately with amazon & ne
Anyone remember Homeworld's manual? I still have that - it is amazing. I wish more manuals were like that!
