I used the 64 bit for a while then switched back to 32 bit when I got my new rig. I did notice that on my old rig the 64 bit seemed a bit faster other than that it was kinda more of a pain then a plus just due the lack of software compatibility. My opinion is at this point unless your a tech or need more than 3 and 1/2 gigs of ram there really is no reason to go 64 bit any sooner than you have to.

Your quite welcome I'm glad I could be of help :) I don't know I think vista is good, I don't seem to have many problems. I know there are some Stardock programs that are slow to get there but actually I'm kinda glad I would rather wait and get a not so buggy piece of software then have them give us some bugged out piece of crap software that's compatible but still has ton's of problems ya know.

Oh My Chasbo I'm not complaining, I was just wondering what other's thoughts were on this. I get the feeling you think I'm whining or something. I'm just trying to have a non-heated discussion surrounding the topic. I was referring to Software in general from games to programs not just one thing in particular. Sorry if my question confused you in any way. If I took your response incorrectly in anyway I apologize. We have a broadband connection using a router, and yes there are plenty o

I got to wondering, will My Colors function as a replacement or upgrade to the current suite manager. Will users be able to save their desktop layouts with it or is the theme manager going also be upgraded so that it finally works with all the upgraded software? Thanks, Angel
I have noticed over my years of gaming, that the folks who find a game and settle in are typically the majority of the customers. Many, if not the majority of the "Hot game" chasers tend to not want to pay for them.
I concur with this In my house we all play BF2 and have purchased every copy we have of it that means 3 times we've paid for BF2 Deluxe edition plus the Booster Packs. Yes it was expensive, but worth it as while we may play other games we've still been playing

I think something definitely needs to be approached differently about anti-piracy techniques. My Own example goes to the fact that I love Neverwinter Nights, and was completely excited to pre-order a DVD copy of Neverwinter Nights 2. The day comes I finally get my DVD in the mail open it and plop it in my computer, and what the hell it won't play. It turns out that atari's Anti-piracy software completely fried my DVD-RW drive. (I'm not the only person who suffered this unfortunate fate) so I'

Xfire skins, now there's a gallery that might get used alot if we had one, sorry I can't help you with your skinning issue, but I think this particular gallery would be nice to see on wincustomize.
We're aware of Piclens. Winstar brought it to my attention early last week. Super-cool stuff. We'll have to look at it more closely to see if/how we can integrate it with WinCustomize.
That's awsome news Zoomba, I would love to be able to use it on Wincustomize, it's such a fantastic Program. Please let us know, if plans to commence!!!
That's cool. Very cool! Thanks for posting this, MHA. Works just fine here, running XP SP3 RC2 with IE7.

As I said I already have McAfee installed because I get it for free from comcast but I'm annoyed with it as it keeps quarantining files that don't need to be and even though I've restored them, with the next scan they get quarantined again.

Yes Ive heard of AVG Just wasn't sure about it, one can never be too careful when choosing computer protection, hence the post for advice...lol. P.S. is the free version really that good or would it be better if I opted for the paid version?

In my house for a long time we've all used Norton Antivirus however Now I'm hearing it may not be the best solution? So I'v heard of other antivirus programs but I'm not sure which is the way to go. Currently I have Mcaffe installed on our computers because we got it for free from comcast. But is there something better? Plus I'm kinda annoyed with Mcaffe as it keeps quarentining files that don't need to be and even though I'v restored them, with the next scan they get quarentined again. It get's

The only problem I have with going 64 bit is that software companies need to pick up the pace on making their software 64 bit compatible, other than that I see no real qualms with that. But if MS did switch to releasing 64bit only OS's this would mean more companies would kinda forced into making that software compatible. So it's kinda a win win situation if you want 64 bit.
Whilst I thought IE7 failed miserably in the 'looks' dept when it came out, it beat Firefox hands down when it came to the speed of loading pages. So Firefox and it's memory leaks went in the bin. I'm looking forward to this 'battle of the browsers' with an open mind and if Firefox have tidied up their act I might try it again
I don't know I find speed to not really be and issue for me I use the latest version of firefox and it's load times are fine by me.
