Also nice to read this about the 'huge update' in september. My 3 big things Im hoping for are Diversity of Meaningful Choices (in faction design, spell choices, and unit design), a revamp of the combat system, and a serious upgrade of the AI. Those three things would make this game perfect for me. Right now its 4 out of 5 stars, but those three would sneak it up to 5!

Ive enjoyed FfH2 a lot, except for the fact that every time I get really late into the game where the end-game battles are beginning, usually me and my vassals vs some other civ and HIS vassals, the game degrades into unplayability and the game file gets corrupted somehow and Im never able to actually finish the damn game. Grr! Elemental I can at least finish a game, even if its always super easy to beat the AI. Hopefully they'll fix that soon!
I personally find the game enjoyable in its current state. The pre-1.05 patch was a bit buggy, but most my issues have been fixed. Would I have done some things differently if I had my druthers on things? Sure. But I didn't make the game, and Im having fun playing it myself. It definately wasnt released 'unfinished'. My main issue with the actual gameplay at this point is that the AI is far too easy. The monsters that end up covering the map are a
Hey folks, I was responding to a post about balance when I thought of an interesting idea I think would add a lot of flavor to the game. Currently, when your sovereign or a champion levels up, you simply get to add some stat points which is nice but I think rather....bland. I'd like more interesting options. So how to do this? Well, it wouldn't be hard to through in another interface on level up that not only do you get to place a stat point, BUT! you also get to spend a talent point wh
I dunno, with the way the equipment system works (infinite rings of infinitness) by late game my soveriegn and other champions I've spent gold on pimping out simply walk through enemy stacks like they are nothing. Is it cost effective compared to just buying stacks of my own? No, but its TIME effective. I can get the equipment IMMEDIATELY, whether than waiting dozens of turns to field a decent army. Summons, well, again, I dont bother really. Its more time effective to simply equip my soverie
I disagree. Magic is very strong early game, but becomes almost worthless in the mid game compared to general unit strength. Magic needs an overhaul, and is the only part of Elemental thats kinda dissapointed me so far (besides a few niggling other things, but thats another post). Magic should scale better in power so that a magic using strategy is viable in the mid-late game. As it stands, I only need chain lightning (for dealing with little hordes of baddies I sometim
Having only what Ive seen so far in my 10+ hours of play since the pre-release, the equipment selection is Not Random. You can randomly find various magic items in chests and for quests, but I've found that to be rare. Usually I get minerals or gold or a 'sellable' item, one you cannot use but can sell to your vendors. That being said, the loot you can tech to is interesting and varied, though I wouldnt exactly call it Balanced yet. Lords Hammers, for example, are FAR g
I Believe, and feel free to correct me if Im wrong, but that the message from Janusk that tells you about 'new and terrible monsters' appears any time you or one of your AI opponents researches a new Adventuring/Domination tech that says 'Unfortunately, this will also release more dangerous monsters into the world' in the description. This means that depending on how fast you and your AI opponents do that research, the games wilderness and the amount of notables (and ev
I think, if this is not too hard to implement, a good idea would be to put a scalable spawn rate option into the game settings menu (where you decide map difficulties and what not). I know, putting the map difficulty higher/lower will change monster spawn rate, but I think having it as a scale bar where you can choose just how often monsters spawn. I'd also like a No Barbarian like option, where you can turn off ALL random monster spawns and simply do the quests for experience and have each n
Another issue Ive had with the AI is that they dont use there sovereign wisely. For example, I declared war on one of the AI that had like, 5 settlements. I took the first one without too much trouble (I'd suprised him) and he sent like, a ton of enemies at me that would've been hard to defeat (I saw them coming) but! he left his soveriegn in my new cities influence, so I just walked up and killed him and his entire empire collapsed. Is there an option for 'complete kil

Hmmm, I did not know resources couldnt be burnt down if they were 'connected' to the city. Wish I had! Id've given up a few slots to stop the damn bandits from killing my gold mine every dozen turns or so. Had to eventually park soldiers on it. But I do agree they shouldnt force you into some counter intuitive building strategy without at least making it plain the benefits and costs, which they currently do not do. Also, question: Do bonuses 'stack'? Say, if I b
I, for one, do not plan on playing a game like this Multiplayer. The only real TBS I got into for Multiplayer was Sword of the Stars, and even then, I'd never play on anything but the smallest of maps, as games just take far, far too long otherwise. Well thats not true, I did Dominions for a little while but there you played maybe a turn a day, and my schedule always forced me to bow out of games early which wasnt fair for the other players. Plus that game had some serious micro/interface iss
Same issue here. It worked fine in patch 1.00 but now in 1.01 I cant seem to use this resource.

Hey, downloaded the game last night and have been playing it off and on most of the day. Its a great game, Im enjoying it. It was a bit hard to get a handle on, but I think Im over the basic learning curve and am really figuring out how to expand and actually play the game. The issue though, is the longer I play, the less responsive the game becomes. The frame rate will sloooowly reduce into nothingness until it feels like Im playing a slideshow. It makes this amazing,
