I'm also getting this crash never had an out of memory error in any previous version getting it regularly now and I'm running Windows 7 64bit with 4Gb. But the program is still 32 bit of course so it can't access all that ram. I'll save and post it the next time it happens. I would add this is in new games under this version with no mods.
Quicksaving early in a session, right after game startup is fairly stable. It's only when the system gets bogged down with memory problems does quicksave become an issue.
Acutally from what Derek has told us I'd infer that when you have been playing a while more objects have been created and destroyed and dereferenced so the chance of a bug where an object still having a pointer though it's been cleaned up increases as has been said that wouldn't be a memory l

I can't think of one game I've played in the last 3 years that has never had a CTD; Starcraft 2, Dragon Age, all the supreme commander games. I've had a few CTD's with all of them. Unless the crashes are very common I try to avoid throwing my dummy out of the pram and storming of. I normally find that with the right drivers and options most games become pretty stable and if your lucky and dealing with a good developer like stardock you know they will keep bug hunting as long as it takes, (not
I didn't see any "Crash fixes" in Patch T and I don't see any listed here in Patch U despite a number of us still reporting them. Are you guys having a tough time recreating or finding the issues in our debug info?
I think it's likley that the remaining crashes are the ones that it's harder for them to track down and elminate and with these patches coming out so fast I suspect they just haven't had time.
Yes, good thread I've been meaning to say how good all the new art work is. Good unique art work does help make the spells feel a lot better because sometimes the cosmetic is important for atmosphere. Well done stardoc.
Just too say I've noticed and appriciated all the new speel art going into recent builds I've been meaning to post about that but got really busy. Well done to the artists, the spells just feel nicer if they have their own art in the spell books. I see there is another build already though I don't have time to play right now. Keep up the good work.
this should be fixed but in all honesty, why are you walking around with your sov on his own? That's asking for trouble.
True but if not for tangle web I could have take them all in about three rounds with hardly a scratch.
Just had a 35 round battle that went thus (I had my soverign against the spiders on a level 3 quest). First round I kill on with fireballs, they close on me. Second round I kill one more and injury another, they tangle web me. Rest of battle I'm tangle webbed, they very ocassionally hit me but it doesn't matter since every time it wears off they we cast tangle web. Result the next 33 turns I can do nothing, until the tiny ocassional amounts of damage kill me.</
I too cannot really play at this point, not even to beta test, as on my high-end machine I get crashes after the first 30 turns or so performing almost any action in 1.09q.
Hope you are submitting those logs I have a pretty high spec machine and 1.09q is really stable for me, sounds like it might be something in your specific hardware/software build so I'm sure they'd find your logs particularly helpful. truth is there is no such thing as a PC game that's 100%
it is incredible. After few months since the release, after so many patches and the game is still so horrible unstable. I played this so called game for only about 60 min since the release. Reason? CTDs...... and I tried 2 my PCs... On my laptop a I have CTD after few turns. On stationary PC after 20 minutes... For me NOTHING has changed for a months... It is patethic you know... PS - you know when
Is it possible to have resources spawn at the begining of the game in a future patch, and the techs only reveal them, Civ-style? I mean... it's kind of weird to have techs *create* resources all over the place. I know it would require quite a bit of code change, but maybe for 1.2?
As someone has said if they where in position at the start of the game how do you stop people building other things on them. And from a player perspective there is no visible difference if the
This is a problem I thought they might have which is why in a previous thread I suggested imbue would need to have a high casting cost, so that it wouldn't make sense to keep canceling and recasting as needed.

Could you sneak in a fix for the blink spell, it's not castable at least not by my soverign because of mana cost apparently. Think it's because it has this tag; ManaCost > 3.0 ManaCost > In addition to the <div class="c" style="text-indent: -2em; margin-
Is there anyone exept fanboys on this forum? I cant explain the fact, that everyone here ignore the huge AI problem. AI is a critical fun factor here, and unfortunatly it cant be fixed fast. Come on Stardock, you know what you need to do.
Are you playing the beta? If so you would know the last patch was a big step forward. However with features, items, spells and systems still in flux for 1.1 I wouldn't expect the AI to be at it's best until after 1
Excellent job Stardock! You're almost making me forget about the 20-30 new quests we need... i said almost.
At this stage I think they should add them as a reward for your single minded persistence. [e digicons][/e]
I've had a number of variations on Janusk. While I agree that the BETA is buggy and is bound to be with the rapid way they are adding features that is kind of the point of having a Beta to find all these bugs. As for how it has changed the game, radically for the better is how I'd sum up.
The spreadsheet isnt ready yet, it only has monsters, weapons, armor and a few other things on it. And Im not sure that we are going to switch to it (at the end of the day it comes down to whats easiest for the team). But the nice part is that if we do xml will be consistently formated and of course I will be happy to share the spreadsheet with anyone who wants it.
I'd find that very useful.
Good news about Arcane Arrow it was rather weak doing 25% instead of the advertised 75%. When's the eta on this patch e.g. an hour or two or 3 or four? Just wondering.
10) I was able to design a unit with greaves and a helm at the start of the game, which I don't remember being able to do before. So I had a choice of building a peasant in 3 turns, or a tougher unit with a staff and light armor in 4 turns (and a higher materials requirement). The tougher unit was needed about immediately, due to the monsters being on the warpath, but two units in a city seemed to be able manage for the first few turns.
Each race now has a special start
In its current implementation I think SD should do away with buying equipment altogether. The gear you buy at the start will be replaced very quickly so there's no need to spend gildar on it...especially at the beginning of the game when you are gildar-starved.
Not my war staff it normally takes a good while to improve on that in game, several tech levels.
The war staff, when creating a sovereign, costs the same as a regular staff, but has 10 more power. WTF?
Just my point it's a weapon it's going to take you a good few years to tech up to, it's a lot better than anything else in the early game and much better than a normal staff that costs the same at character creation. The only downside you can't use a shield with it.
Warstaffs can be had around level 3 or 4 in the warfare research tree. I think that onc
