A good case is worth the investment. A friend of mine told me how many college students throw out perfectly good computer systems. His sister would collect some of the stuff to salvage and found out that the stuff still works fine. A good case should outlast many hardware upgrades in terms of motherboard and CPU.
Good points, Kryo. When the console game makers require key registration and an online account, their used games business goes down the tubes. Impulse provides them with that safety net so they don't go belly up when this happens.
I seriously doubt you can get AT form factor cases anymore. They haven't been made in many years.
I am glad you guys got your computers. My Acer notebook is their premium entertainment notebook. The graphics card in my desktop is an EVGA nVidia GTX 460 and cost me about $219. I didn't get either one for gaming. LOL

Generally speaking, all software is released with bugs, and in some cases: no user manual. Daz3D is notorious for this, buggy and no user manuals. The software? Carrara 8/Pro, Bryce 7/Pro, Daz Studio 4 Standard/Advanced/Pro. What they do instead, is point to a manual that is a version or two older and them have you watch these small YouTube videos on the Cool New Features! Then there is Mac support. The software does not work in OS X Lion.

I know how you feel, Whiskey144. I remember when I was waiting for my Acer Aspire 8950G-9839 18.4 inch 1080p Core i7 notebook, 16 GB DDR3 notebook memory, and a cake box of DVD-R. What I did re the HDDs, is replace 2 PATAs with the 2 SATAs. The only extra thing is the WiFi card and it had been in that case, with that PSU before. However, the PSU is old enough to have seen its last days. My first suspect is the PSU since it had been running fine. Then it sat with the power off for a month or so. Then nothing. Has anyone thought about this? Major OEMs have always wanted to lock the buyer into buying hardware from them at inflated prices. This is the way to do it. Any hardware upgrade is Buy New Computer. After all, they have to keep their cash flow going. Systems that have a programmed End Of Life. Most of us here are enthusiasts and build our own from high quality parts.
