Excellent spell effects man. They look real atmospheric.

I'm giving karma to everyone except you. EDIT: At least to people with 0 karma.

Metrosexual? Canadian and Hollywood? Huh?

Indubitably, irrefutably! And by the way, would you have any grey poupon?
Good sir! Your licentious behavior will surely cause a shitstorm.
Well, maybe it should. As far as I know, there is no major 4x game in the US catering to loli enthusiasts. They made Elemental because there wasn't a fantasy one, and that market at least has some old games.
You are joking, right?
OK, got an interesting thing for you guys. This is a city grid. Pop it into your Elemental/gfx/decals folder, then run the tile editor. Instant streets. Aren't I clever? There's more. If you wanted to, you could use the grid to make a template for all new street designs. Let me be frank. My grids are ugly, they're essentially an experiment. But, if you make a better street d

I have no idea. I suspect you need to wait until the APIs are released. When they are it should be extraordinarily easy.
I agree with these principles and sovereigns should have a more specialized array of powers. More importantly, you have an NZ in your name. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE! [e digicons]:ninja:[/e]
Well, Elemental is not exactly the product I thought it would be. It needed an extra month, I feel, and it really needed to stick with its original design. I really have confidence that frogboy will work diligently on Elemental.

I've just made prototype name generator for Elemental: War of Magic, designed to make names that are pronounceable. It's currently quite limited, but I finally managed to make it churn out a single name: "Thoy".
Excellent work! C'mon people, let's not be so stingy with the karma.
These are good solid effects Magic Weasel. I might have to pinch them when building my mod :)
Yes. Before, I simply replaced my textures with old ones (see Maori Tattoos far, far down the forum) but now I'm pretty sure there is XML.

In Dragonlance the only "evil" I liked was that of Takishis' Knights, when she went from Chaotic Evil to Legal Evil and started using dark counterparts to Solamnia Knights. Evil saving the d
Yeah, some of the simple stuff I really want. I also want facial variations between individual troops in the same unit. That always makes things look 90% more awesome.
I've been brainstorming a couple of things and I want to know what you guys think. Contract System As I've mentioned before, I'm going to use a lot of stuff from Grand Ambitions for Dark Republic. One of the things I wanted to use in both mods was the concept of "unit contracts". The unit contract system is an alternative method of experience designed specifically for enormous unit sizes. The basic idea is that you can prioritize experience gain based
Well, without the python coding in yet it's going to be difficult to do some of the more ambitious things, and I want to hold off getting deep into tile creation without the giant tile art pack that's coming, but I think what I'll do instead for now is make some miscellaneous mods while I plumb the depths of the XML. Perhaps a custom faction? Yes, that'll be a good start.
As was discussed earlier on, we wound up data-driving most of the stuff via XML. We plan to separate things back out into Python as time goes on.
Ah OK I must've missed that.
Hey, has anyone been able to find the editable python files? I've been combing through the Elemental folder and I can't seem to find it.

I'm not worried. :)
One of my crazy projects was to try and build a text-based space simulator. It didn't turn out very well, but it always sticks in the back of my mind as something I want to try and do. Personally, I really want to do a contemplative fleet battle game, where the time scale would be days. The gameplay would be tense "search and destroy" gameplay, where you're trying to pinpoint the enemy without giving away your own position. I should probably make a PnP wargame from this idea.
