Granted it might seem a bit illogical when you look at it like that. On the other hand one of the first things I build in every Civ game is a settler too. Do Pioneers have population cost? As I see it that would be a good way to solve it, and a reason to NOT build pioneers straight away. That would also mean that the Outpost spam would stop. What if a pioneer cost 'round 50 pop? I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before, but I'm not sure what conclusions were reached
As far as I know the AI isn't cheating at all unless you play higher difficulties. Why don't you try playing on easy if you find the computer to aggressive? And I don't think it's weird at all to build pioneers straight away, it's a viable strategy. Granted the AI maybe spams them a bit much, but that's because it's often a good idea to do so. I voted Good. I agree with erlier posters, in regards to content it's a pretty solid build, although I also would like things like postitioning to matter in tactical combat. It doesn't need to be overly complicated, a simple flanking and perhaps backstab bonus would go a long way to making it a bit more interesting. Why not give them 1000 more spell resistance? Or is that outside of the allowed parameters? If not, then they would be immune to anyone not cheating...
When comparing faction abilities, you have to take into account all the abilities of a faction. For example Resoln have shard-converting, bound elementals AND spiders. They can't have three abilities that are as good as Tarths single ability, then they would be *too* OP. I like the point of this thread, but I would choose to rank the factions in regards to all their abilities, instead of ranking the ablities alone. If that's the case, they really should rename the ability to "spell resistant" or something. Immunity should mean they're totally immune, otherwise it's just plain confusing.

The dynasty mechanic was a nice thought but the way it worked in WOM didn't feel like something they wanted in FE. There IS a variety of skin tones when you "construct" a custom race. You just can't change it in the unit designer in game. You also cannot change you sovereigns skincolour once the game has started. That could be a new building "body surgery an facial reconstruction", necessary for the perk "doppelganger", which would give your built units the possibility of replacing the other nations sovereigns, giving you an insta-win. I really like the way you can design your cities anyway you like, and expand towards important resources or choke points. However, I think the reasons given for changing to a 1 tile system with secondary tiles for certain improvements have merit. Personally I feel I have to try this new system before I can have an opinion. Bring on the next Beta with the new system implemented. THEN we can talk.

But the AI is supposed to cheese spam rush. I just want it to be unpredictable. I want Bastard AI AND angelic AI. Friendly and Hostile, Stupid and Smart, Might and Magic. What I don't want is an AI that never rushes me, I just don't want it to ALWAYS rush me. I think I'm with Vaul on this one.
