I have had this exact same problem for all versions of 1G

I have this same issue. When I arrive at the choose soverign screen, there are none to choose. The only option appears to be create a new one. But the game CTD when pressing the "Create Soverign" button. This only happens on my Windows 7 machine. I will send in the specs for it later.

When first starting a game, Elemental does not progress past Creating World wait screen. I have found that i can work around this by switching to a different application, then switching back to Elemental which has finaly progressed. However the cloth map is blank, no terrain or locations, only the unit pieces. I have multiple computers and this only occurs on one. Same issue for me as well

steps to recreate(requires multiple monitors): 1. Play elemental 2. Move mouse to monitor not displaying Elemental (most games do not allow this functionality) 3. Click mouse button Results in a black screen for Elemental that so far the only way i know to fix is with the Task Manager then starting over.
