Well, we could pull devs off of making the new game to make DLC I suppose... The real answer is that Stardock is still a small company, and even though we've been hiring at an absurd pace over the last year we've got two games in full production plus DLC and patches for LH. The last thing *anyone* would ever want would be to compromise the quality of the unannounced fantasy game for any reason. We've already made a
My response wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, I was just pulling some recent examples of things going on in the LH community The DLC went from Spouses to Leader Pack because Frogboy gets really excited about things and shares them with you guys before they've gone through the actual process of development, heh. Things like that happen *all the time* as ideas are thought up, tested, iterated on, redesigned, and so o
At this point I would appreciate an official Stardock response... might be usefull.
There's a reason Gandalf didn't summon his own balrogs. ; )
Whilst I agree with the general sentiment of your post, I can't resist commenting on the fact that neither Sauron nor Morgoth did summon any Balrogs... rather they arrived of their free will. ;-)
The chess comparison is actually very valid. It takes special hard- and software to beat the best human chess players. Chess, although a difficult game to master at top level, is in essence limited when it comes to a computer game where the grid is not 8 by 8 but oh i dunno what a huge size map is... and where the pieces are not easily defined as "can move over all the white squares, in a straight line, in any direction" for a bishop, but "can move 4 squares, except when on a road, or using C
O_o at this point I would not even be tempted to buy this when on discount.
Why do you say they are bugged?
I guess thats why they picked up Derek Paxton here at Stardock ;-)
The Cloth Map, like many other ideas in Elemental, was a really good idea. The funny thing is that I hardly ever use it, I really enjoy looking at the actual forests and terrain. Yet strangely enough, I really like that it is "there", inside the game, and on occasion, when the empires get big enough, I zoom out and take a peek. It just "adds". Taking cities IS tedious. Sieges are tedious. Storming walls is tedious and frustrating buisness. Even in a game that has been specializing in

First! Imma first! *kaching* there's my five bucks. now... im busy. edit: or not, Steam is not doing what it should... not even the following morning. I'm forestalling purchase, given the rest of this thread.
Oh and Lightning Bolt is grossly overpowered. For 19 mana you can scythe through entire armies. Makes for very boring combat, just get two casters with lighting bolts and force the enemy to fight in a checkered pattern and its game over.
Funnily enough I never saw it drop untill yesterday, and now its dropped four times in three hours of play. O_o

Aaah... yess... right on the money, that one. It seems we miss a bunch of traits and gear in the unit department. I'm thinking about a trait to use anything other than say a spear ( two handed, mind you), and specialization traits to improve damage for a chosen weapon. Thus, for a heavy armor guy, you'd end up with Plate Mail trait, Sworduse trait and maybe even Shielduse trait. Is that better than a leather armor Sworduse, Fast and Bloodthirsty? They'
Yes... that made my day. I'm sure someone has found it before, and posted about it, but its worth mentioning none the less. Thank you for the giggles :)
One day, mankind will invent a cure for stupidity.... it will fix world hunger, all wars and a very large amount of diseases.
I have no respect whatsoever for rapists, kiddiemolesters and other such monsters. The death penalty however, due to the chance of a mistake, is off... I'd much prefer lifelong imprisoment with eight hours of community service every day ( digging trenches, cutting down trees, breaking rocks, you know, the usual) and a more severe variant of the ankle-belt to keep em in check ( one around each ankle, one around each wrist, and one around the neck... if you take any of em off, the rest goes
Units are bland. You end up with swordsmen with the best sword, pikemen with the best pike, archers with the best bow... axeman with the best axe... and then you find a combo that works, usually heavy infantry with a shield and a sword or hammer, and youll just mass produce these. Magical weapons are just an upgrade from "best" and in the end I usually dont bother with infantry but mount everything on a horse or better yet a warg. Most of the unit traits are rather... meh. Fast, Bloodthirsty a

Your way of expressing suggests that you think Stardock does not take good care of its customers. I beg to differ. They do. Had you been here from the start of WoM you would have known.

At any rate, here in the Netherlands there was a very clear opinion about the action, and that is " jeez how stupid can you be?"
I also bought the original elemental, and were really sad at how bad it was. A year later, I got an email from stardock where they apologized for the shit elemental, and said they remade the game to be good and provided me with a free DL link yay for registering your stardock games at their homepage, and yay for stardock themselves
It gets even better when you pre-ordered Elemental... which I did
Yeah Morrigan's Call will greatly increase the growth when combined with death shards... strangely enough, I play my undead as a custom faction, with life magic. Its funny how that works :)
