all I meant is that if they were cheating anybody it was themselves by deny themselves the challange of a good game.
Last thing, I'd suggest a system protection to disencourage save-load cheat.
For single player, I want to be able to save/load whenever I want. This is for two reasons: 1) I may need to just stop playing for whatever reason. 2) I may need to reload to undo some horrific mistake I did that results in some tragic loss of my well-planned out castle/city/unit/whatever. I do not want to start a new game just to get back to some advanced point in d
It was also so incredible targetted at America Public
One of the key take-away points from An Inconvenient Truth was that the USA contributes a large percentage (we're over-represented in the stats) to the problem - and has done relatively little to work towards an impactful solution. So while the issue is global in scope, Al Gore may have been trying to speak to those that are most contributory to the issue. Americans are the target audience,

I couldn't set it up in Firefox. I had to try it in IE8 beta. It worked there. As a side note, it's likely that I have different versions of Flash in the two browsers (and likely IE 8 had the older version, because I don't use it).

re: spells, I'd be interested in a spell 'forge' where you craft new spells. Something players can do to create new custom content. Spells break down into two components: 1) Special Effects (audial/visual) 2) Mechanics (gameplay and ruleset impact) (note to self, and to others... did I miss anything?) Special Effects: Each of the 5 schools may have a common or set of common effects to represen
Infinity engine games aren't turn-based, and don't incorporate Initiative and stuff like that very well. The same is the case with the Aurora/Odyssey/Electron engine(Neverwinter Nights, KotOR etc).
In the Infinity games, combat and movement were resolved according to rounds, though by default the start and end of a round (turn) passed without user-interaction to provide for an (almost) real-time effect. Will user created content be immediately available for others to acquire (with a status of 'unrated' or 'not yet rated' or some-such), or does it have to make it's way through a queue of Stardock moderators to rate it before it becomes available? Without divulging technology - which may not be in place at this point - can we get the workflow outlined so that we understand the process of publishing custom content?
Will their be a United Nations (of sorts) in Elemental? It would be kinda cool to have but dont know if it will fit the theme. What do you guys think?
Wouldn't be a necessary feature for me to enjoy the game. But I wouldn't hate it either. Rather than U.N., just think "Council", as in "Council of Man" or "The White Council". That's very interesting.

-Ue_Carbon hits on all cylinders in that rebuttal. Alfonse, it's crystal-clear you know what you're talking about. I will never be involved in the professional Starcraft circuit. In fact, I didn't know it existed. So bear with me when I reply to your statement, "Rushing strategies must always be viable" with a big fat raspberry! :) Your statement might be more accurate as, "Rush strategies must always be viable for hard-core online players who's

I don't like the zerg-rush 'strategy' prevalent on RTS games because you miss out on the base building, resource gathering, and defense aspects of the game that I tend to enjoy. I feel that the game fails if I don't get to at least try to build and research all the units and techs. Also, my observance is that with the introduction of the Zerg in Starcraft, developers of RTS games must balance units so that the attacker gets the advantage. The alternative is that you can tu

Hmm. This is the 2nd topic where I get to talk about Squad Leader . SL and it's successor, Advanced Squad Leader had a focus on (as the game name implied) leadership and it's tactical impact in combat situations. This was factored into gameplay through '<a title="n. I think there is a general lack of sophisticated and noble evil/dark/bad races in games. I tend to play good/light sides, but I also tend to jump at the (very rare) chance to play the bad guys if they're not wart-faced, snot-nosed, sniveling snide snakes living in decrepit hovels. That said, I do like the quality of what I see in the screenshot posted of The Fallen, so I have no specific critique for that. I guess I was hoping that the bad guys in this game might not be so

@Tamren: I think we're in the same ballpark, but differ perhaps in terms of the degree by which elevation impacts a combat result. I get the impression that you would prefer elevation to have a larger impact on an outcome of a combat round than I would. But that's ok, because I have exactly zero indication about how this game will organize a game turn, what variables are involved in movement and combat, or anything else that would lend itself to an informed opinion about t
