Capitalism is powerful because the government can create economic incentives to make the populace do just about anything. And we only need to conserve power until 2060 or so. That is when the whole fusion power thing kicks in and we just don't have to care anymore. I do apreciate, Lord Xia, that you are progressively not caring about power usage. Such a futurist this guy. In kind: We only need to recycle metal until t

Oh, I read it as one and the same.. it's probably separate from the Elemental track because in theory any game that uses the engine should be able to use the mod layer. Maybe with modifications depending on whether or not the engine advances, but in general..
I'm not familiar with both so I can't really speak up. Can you tell us more exactly what the mod layer is, and how/if it relates to Elemental?
Basically, they want to make scripting available to modders. Without exposing the source code, that means there needs to be a "wrapper" of sorts that talks to the engine, that's the mod layer. It's either Python or LUA so the modder codes in either of those, and the mod layer goe
The movies do, the books I hear are a lot more violent and not filled with sparkly vampires and guys that are always shirtless. But I'm still not touching them with a 10 foot pole. :P

Ill get my knickers in a twist when someone does a good sci-fi, twitch based mmo. Im looking forward to Planetside Next (LOVED playing planetside when it was more populated, most epic battles ever.) As for FTP, i fucking hate them, i would rather pay 10-15 bucks a month for years to play a QUALITY

Yeah, I didn't include League of Legends because it's not quite an MMO. I think LoL is a bit unique in that it's *only* a competitive game so having stuff that actually influences gameplay be real-money only would basically cause the whole game to fail. MMOs can get away with that because most of them are focused on PvE, where power imbalances aren't really an issue.
First of all, "Free To Play" is pretty much a lie. It's a demo. If you want to get past the first little bit, it's most certainly not free. This model is usually used by Facebook games, and it sucks. It causes the games to be designed such that you gradually slow down farther and farther, and need to pay to do anything at a reasonable pace. If the game is in any way competitive, people who pay have an advantage over those who don't. <
Well, there's their problem.. why would they build a bridge out of sand?

When the list is called "Top 25 Games of the 2000s" including World of Warcraft on it really devalues the entire list. Is it popular? Sure. Is it selling well? Of course. Is it making Activision Blizzard over $200,000,000.00 a month on
Woot Sins! As for WoW being #1, is anyone really surprised? Disagreeing maybe, but surprised? :P
Monk, we should play at some point. There's an achievement for crossing the beams where at least one wizard has to die....
Everyone seems to be missing the point about DRM, or assume every "pirate" knows how to use torrents/IRC bots/etc. I don't believe any suit at these publishers actually believes that their DRM curbs the hardcore pirates. What it does do, however, is curb the casual piracy. The group of friends who can copy a disk and pass it between each other so all 5 of them can play the game off one disk, but don't know where/how to download it. We the savvy gamers and internet crawlers are not the "target

How many things can you name of the "crazy BS PC publishers come up with" that made it onto consoles? The only reason they didn't bother with serial numbers before is because the consoles themselves are physical forms of protection (which is why pirates nee
To move you just hold down LMB and the character moves to the mouse pointer.
I bought it last night, but didn't get much of a chance to play it. Mixing magic to create spells on the fly definitely has an appeal :)
Yep, the trailer and the game is basically 100% fan service.. they didn't do much new stuff, and instead it looks like they just brought back the old Duke into the modern era. And I'm totally fine with that :D

To a person who spends most of their time on the desktop.. okay, they might be cool. To a gamer? They don't do anything for a gamer. Can't see your desktop while a game is running, and all the fun stuff you can do with windows doesn't really do anything else. Undoubtedly SD has a sizeable fanbase of strictly app users, but most of the new blood coming
You can also try Ministry of War . It's a free to play browser strategy MMO. You pick a civilization (Egypt, Rome, etc), and build up your cities. There's PvE (roaming monsters, lairs with bosses for loot), and 2 kinds of PvP: arenas, where you can sign up your hero (heroes command armies, level up, have skills, equipment, stats, etc) and get exp and fame for winning and you can get some equipment from that. Then there are contested zo
I used DeskScapes until it started making games run screwy. Back when we were testing Demigod it kept crashing and I couldn't figure out why. Turned off DeskScapes and it stopped crashing. Between games and animated wallpaper that I rarely see, games will win.. stopped using it after that. Maybe I'll give it another shot.
WinCustomize does have a download limit for non-subscription accounts. This is mostly for the app side of things (skins, themes, etc). I'm guessing they just forgot to exclude Elemental mods from what contributes to the limit.. AFAIK, I've never heard anyone hitting the DL limit on Sins mods/maps.
I stand corrected on post-creation customization :) But in essence, I wasn't entirely wrong.. each piece of gear still has its own set, so you have to collect every "slot" type from that set if you want it completed, and the initial costume options are pretty lacking in comparison to CO/CoH.. so unless you have collected gear for a whole costume set, you're still going to be mismatched, you just don't have to show it. :P
So your concerns are not necessary. You will not have to worry about EWOM having something FE doesn't. FE will have all that EWOM has and more. If it isn't, then I will let one of the Devs correct me, but I can't see them taking any approach but this one.
I like how you speak so authoritatively in the first 3 sentences, and t

But I know it wouldn't keep my attention for all that long any more, yea, I think it's sunset for CoH. I would just sit for hours playing with the character c
