. For example, at this point in time, you just cant build a PC with the capabilities the PS3 has. The PS3 is truly an amazing piece of work. And to top it off, it only costs $500. Even if you could manage to build a PC similiar to the PC3, it would cost you literally thousands of dollars. *cough cough* bs. The blu-ray or however that crap is spel

where Firaxis has practically released the source code I know, i begged for the source already. Then they told me to get a job.
To n0v4k4n3: Being honest, I felt that your words were.. offensive. O_o honestly I'm shocked here. I apologize if my tone came off wrong, I actually *liked* the suggestion, just respectfully disagreed with it. And Mumble's right (he knows from personal experience), if I was trying to be a provocative jerk, there would be no subtly at
My projects on planets always give he correct time. He may be using 1.31. There were some issues (more noticeably in the beginning of the game) where build times were off by about a week, and that was after hitting focus/unfocus. It didn't 'always' happen, but when you were trying to balance your econ spending to reflect getting a project done wi
Once your treasury exceeds 20k,,you get an income penalty but unlike the 80% taxes morale penalty,,this one is easy to live with. Maybe you should like... read the post from the OP who shows you when it can be difficult to deal with. We know it's not a "cap"... it's the generally accepted way around this forum of saying "hard coded value
Infantry, artillery, cavalry Can i ride a Thalan into battle?
What do you do in the wintertime when the sun gets cold? *blink blink* ouch, brain hurt
lol oops... edit: base miniaturization size... that happens when you actually concentrate on work for once... but the point remains valid you can upgrade between *slinks away embarrassed*
More modability (if that's a word ), the power to make much more complex and game-changing mods, less hardcoded and more in XML. Obviuosly I'd like to see more so people other than modmakers would buy it . User-created conetent is the future. Ummm, besides the 20k hardcap... what numerical value isn't already modifiable? And you can alre
Can you explain to an old man how to upgrade from one hull type to another? You can't for most ships. Cargo hulls and large hulls have the same base hp value, so they are interchangeable. The flagship is a medium
@Shogun Maybe it's just me then. I play obscene, and usually burn the first 30 turns at 100% morale and tend to match on colonies. Including the population growth attributes i always select at the beginning, i tend to have gaps in the hundred billions by the 75th turn between me and the AI. Like... usually by the time I'm ready for my first war, there are as many of my race as there are the other 9 opponents combined.
Once you have large ships you can upgrade your flagship. You can also build cargo survey ships, that I upgrade to large fighters espec if they have the captains log or equivalent. When used properly, it is quite useful.
Agreed, i've beta testing DA... and once its out there will be no need for DL, DA is a much more interesting game. It's like trying to play starcraft without the brood war expansion pack... it just doesn't happen.
Actually, if we use this model, populations would go out of whack pretty quick... See, the thing you have to remember is there is a difference between *actual* planet population, and the population that pays taxes. The population that you're seeing is the tax paying population. The tax paying population increases exponentially with morale. This would make sense, since the more satisfied citizens there are, the more that will pay taxes. Not to mention, basing this growth o
I think "grammar nazi's", or people who have been taught to speak reasonable English (whichever you prefer), tend to only really go off when somebody either A)hit's a peeve such as Wheel's 'moral' or B)The English is so horrendous that it truly retracts from the post. When I see a single spelling mistake that's not a game term, I usually just let it slip; however, when there are profuse grammatical errors, I take the person's post all that less seriously. If you can take the time to think of an
AI at the 125% bonus level. The extra 25% bonus is hardly noticeable and in my opinion makes for a "fair" game. Not sure on this one. I'd like to see an in-between of the 25%+ and the 100%+. The 25% is a consistent win for me in 9 out of 10 cases (the tenth being stuck in a corner with 3 stars and everything greater than general life support out
Simply put, why doesn't the AI attack more? In both games I was able to expand like crazy and not build any military ships until I had over thirty worlds. By that time, I already knew I could beat the game and it wasn't as much fun to play. Really? Cuz I've played gigantic maps I can *colonize* over 50 worlds and still lag behind... since giganti
by that logic, shouldn't it be scissor-rock-paper, since scissors could be used to shank a person and are lighter and thus easier to work with? rocks, though dangerous, are harder to use in a fight due to their bulk. Clearly there's only one way to solve this. Meet up with me with your pair of scissors, and I'll have my rock. We'll get some third
I notice that one poster said that my proposed system is flawed because defense would obviously run away with the game, and another that swarms of all-attack escorts are the way to go. *grin* Nope, same poster idiot, try reading what's there and not what you want to hear. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 clas
Tactical combat, IMO, is a must. Keep the bs topics that are dead horses out of my posts kthnx
I don't worry about it too much. I'm still using the system I built in 02 with its 2.4 GHz P4. Yeah, as long as you maintain your windows operating system, extensive power isn't really that necessary anymore. Hardware is getting so fast that developers can't keep up with it... we might be able to if there was a better standard set of libraries a
I haven't quite finished setting it up yet, but I'm wondering, is it already obsolete? Yes, the AMD quad cores are the top of the line for overall processor power. *However*, you need to keep in mind that obsolete is a relative term. The quad core technology is really only appropriate for servers. IMHO the dual cores are overkill for a home P
O_o are you sure? I haven't noticed anything... maybe you need to perform an update?
They will still work even if you have a normal (non dual core non quad core) but you'll end up waiting between turns. Is this *necessarily* true, or is it *likely* to be true? From how you've explained your AI calculation process (or how I understand it anyway), the threads for the AI should finish and sleep on a decent single core CPU if it ta
I know, but I've seen so many people call it that. It drives me nuts!
