Look, it's unlikely that this game will be as big as homeworld simply because stardock so far as I understand them doesn't have the advertising capital to make that happen. You think Relic had that much capital to work with when the released HW? Dont make me laugh. Who published them? Don't make ME laugh. Well then, this is a 3D game isnt it?</di

Theres not such things as a genuine memorial effort, everything is about money. Just because someone makes money doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Furthermore, on veteran's day I've placed flags on US soldier graves since a child. So far I've never been paid for it... and I won't be told by you or anyone else that it's not a real memorial effort. You're treading on thin ice here.

A lot of things make this game unique, just the general basis make it unique. Oh really? cite something that's unique then? This game wasnt about orbits and gravity in the first place, so I dont get your statement whatsoever. It was about 3d movement and gravity. Gravity was a big feature that they were talking about in the old days. Furthermore, 3d movement was how they pulled in the hom

Minus 3d movement and gravity you're almost there already. 3d movement isn't even innovative. It's just the bare minimum you need to have to match homeworld. Gravity is what will propel you beyond that. Look, it's unlikely that this game will be as big as homeworld simply because stardock so far as I understand them doesn't have the advertising capital to make that happen. So what's going to draw people to your game is going to be the game itself. And predominetly the people that are go

The same reason why we have Phase lanes, and it is also the same reason we wont have 3D movement. The game would be more of a hassle and less fun. I couldn't disagree more. What's the point of setting this game in space if you take away the 3d movement? In fact, what makes this game even unique if you remove gravity and orbits? That was like the whole draw of the game... Have the movement/pathin

Why was that disgusting? Capatalization on peoples pain and agony. We all knew what happened yet the media continued to play footage just to raise raitings. In my opinion 9/11 and all events following were Big Media's version of a holiday. No... showing that footage was a good thing. Would it better to see paris hiltion or something equally insipid? We are at

This could get too complex. Plus wed have to have a lot more tactical slots to work with to make an efficient wall. Defense turrets werent a big thing in HW2, they are in Sins. Why there are slots at all escapes me. one the primary things that drew me to this game was the notion of gravity and orbits. So there shouldn't be slots so much as orbits. And those orbits (think hoops of various sizes) can be orriented any way you li

I agree with you on Al Gore...as South Park put it in a show about electing a school mascot, the choice was between a douche and a shit sandwhich. Kerry was a loser too. I don't personally like Hillary and I think that 24-28 years of two families running this country back-to-back is not a good idea. I'd perfer Obama or Edwards (or really Biden, but he doesn't stand a snow ball's chance in hell). I can't say I'd really like any of the Republicans...

As far as I'm concerned, going into Iraq could have been proffered as merely a matter of finishing what we started back in the first Gulf War. AKA: We didn't finish the job for some stupid reason. If we have to let countries fall into dictatorships (and to a degree we do have to at times...) we can at the very least topple said dictatorships the instant they cross the line. If you remember back to why we didn't it was because the UN told us not to. We

yep... great game. It had three different plot tracks you could follow. You could "fight" your way through problems where there would be a little arcade game when you had to deal with people. You could talk your way through as well... I think that was called the "wits" path. Then there was a teamwork path where a girl woudl follow you around and help you out. So you had to play the game through 3 times to see everything and figure out all the puzzles

I think we can agree they've made a lot of mistakes but I would downplay much of the long term significance of those mistakes. Most of the patriot act for example has already been over turned and will be either over turned or "sunsetted" in the next few years. As to Iraq it's important to understand the underlying purpose of that incursion which was to change the middle east. yes, we entered to deal with nuclear weapons, but that wasn't the only reason and in the absence of the nuk

Bush is without a doubt the worst public speaker in any high office in our generation... and perhaps beyond... But these events are bigger then Bush... and just because the man can't talk his way out of a wet paper bag doesn't mean that everything the US government is doing is wrong.

I was going to a college class that morning. It was a US political class and I was kind of annoyed the professor didn't want to talk about the event and simply keep to the lesson plan. In retrospect I don't really care but it annoyed me at the time. Anyway, I remember being angry and wanting to drop a pill on whoever did it. Now I'm not so much as angry at them as "determined" to see their vision of the world die. I want them to be outcasts in their own home... for their children a

enough with the damn knights templar... If I see one more movie about the knights templar... I'm climbing a clock tower in hollywood with with a bazooka (sniper rifles are for pansies)... Atlantis would be interesting but you have to actually GO there for it to be cool. It should have been Indiana Jones and the lost city of Atlantis... yes, I know... it was a game... it was a damn good game.

Limiting the the tactics of the game to what the AI understands is a horrible horrible horrible bad bad awful idea... I can't think of a single good game that was ever made where that was done. It's gameplay suicide. The AI is by it's very nature... stupid. By limiting gameplay to "stupid" you make the gameplay stupid. A game with stupid gameplay is in itself stupid. Thus by bringing the game down to the level of the AI you've really just made it only worthy of being played BY the
