The Ogre hero (Hurugh sp?) can buy the skill as a warrior for chainmail and platemail. Still can't wear armour so pretty useless.

Another who gets this. Played my first major game yesterday and had it every 20-30 min. Main menu and save the game then close the game, reopen and reload was the only way to continue.
seems like there is a general feeling that Elemental might have lifted off the beta runway too soon and attempted to fly without gaining enough airspeed first? Would that be a reasonable analogy?
As I comprehend it to your analogy, they tried to invent a new plane (game engine) for a new airline (game), ran a few in state test flights (divided beta tests) to check the areodynamics, advertised a lot of content that
It is an old problem and noted in several posts before but we can only keep posting when it happens till it is fixed lest they think it has. I will try Eviliron's suggestion as I have just gone back to the options screen unticked and reticked the cloth map only option to get it back.
1.08b Elemental software closes out every 10-20 turns, generally during combat or initiation of combat or quests. http://pastebin.ca/1943473 Also found that researching the two resource finding levels of adventure tree didn't give gold or extra food.

Until the cities don't fall and instantly become your alliegence with no threat to uprising or the like then any effect that aids defence to stop easy overruns isn't a bad thing. I had thought the Teleport friends originally was to teleport either a friendly stack without teleporting the caster, or allowed teleportation into the influence of allied groups. But nope, it does nothing new.
That would explain Brad's desire to make tactical spells longer term strategic variants. All in all a simple solution but hopefully not the long term one or it implies the tactical system as it stands will be what we get long term in single player, tacked on though it feels. I imagine that if all moves are simultaneous and battle occurs when two enemy units occupy the same space at the same time, the next turn would open for all players, those with fights opening on th
Will the turns be simultantious or my turn everyone elses turn in order? Considering the reliance in the single player of seeing an enemy unit and moving at it to start a fight, if they are moving away at the same time this obviously can't work the same. But then waiting on up to 16 people to take a turn would be far more arduous?
As my opening post shows, the intent of the thread is to disect the nature of the successful predeccessors of E:WoM to make a successful new system. It was against posts out there that consistantly start with "Use the system from x" where x was MoM AoW, etc. These threads devolved into what arguements of the current failings, but not what should be learned from the successes of the past to make the next better system. Yes, let us learn how many 'wheels' th
It seems the arguement for Save/continue games over save load games is purely for players who play to the hard edge of strategy where whatever is most effective must be used, including meta game options like reloading from save points, exploiting loopholes and unbalanced options, and taking advantage of AI failings. For some players this is natural, but for others, especially those who care more about the flavour and character of the game, meta game options and
-Dynasties. Dynasties is a cool idea, but they never intended it to allow succession upon a Sov's death. Many argued for this option, but it was emphatically rejected. So, this wasn't promised (and the non-promise was successfully delivered in release), but it could be a feature that offers a promise of how Elemental separates itself from many other games. Some great replies from everyone, Robert Hentschke seems to have a real handle on that affinity idea that could clean up the basic tactical to a playable level, briliant but that really is more a patch and doesn't address a foundation for more than math changes. Hybridvitae, heh that was the post that inspired me to start this one to try and see the basic building blocks of a new magic system rather than patch a lackluster one. One can paint like Picaso but as big as he would get he would always be in Picaso's shadow.&n
For instance I feel for a decent modern system with the premise that Elemental is written for, I'd like to see a system where: 1. The tactical and strategic systems are completely separate, with whatever power source in one as separate in the other. This would allow more combat spellcasting without sacrificing any build up for summoning/enchantments on the strategic level. This also separates the research of each so one could specialize in combat mages or strategic magics and the powe
Putting aside the dead horse that the magic system for Elemental is not up to par, I have been reading several threats suggesting that they should use the magic system of MoM or AoW or others. But why? Sure it would be nice to have a solid system and it would be smart to build on the work of those who have come before, but I don't think the game is truly served by copying what has come before as much as creating a new system out of the blocks t
Hopefully such shuffling will be in the next major update. As for sharing equipment StevenAus, I stumbled into the trade function. Inside a stack look at the actions tab of a character and there is a set of scales called trade. You then can cycle through the stack for you are trading to and from. Of course it is still awkward as it doesn't show what either character has equipped nor if they can use an item given to them (like summoned beasts can't be given medical packs).
Nice annalysis but does race choice modify the soverign in any way other than some equipment being disallowed by race? or is racial benefit only from faction choice?
For those worried about husband and wife never seeing each other and still having kids, the censors cut the 0 mana spell 'Summon booty call' that is automatically cast at the end of turn summoning the wife to the channeller and returning her after. [e digicons]:P[/e]

They do appear to early for my taste, but oddly the only games I have found them in (approx 1/3) I always find 2-3 in short order, never just 1.
I find it takes some getting used to, but fundamentally I'd rather that instead of seeing what should and might be available next, I would rather be surprised by what appears than disappointed when what I want fails to appear. I'd also like to see more content and variety and even double paths, and the game sets certain paths as denied or available each time. For example in one game swords might be on a path up 'bladed weapons', in the next is only on 'metal weapon' pat

Out of interest did you submit your error log in the support forum so they can gather more comparison data to make sure the next patch covers the issue you had, or are you just hoping the patch will correct it and accept that if it doesn't that you will be waiting and hoping for the next one after that will?
