Yea you are right, as it is now you can somewhat ignore defences if you can move around fast enough.
I was going to tell you how right or wrong you are but then I figured I'd spoil your fun. :D Some other cool stuff too like if you have a treaty with someone you can shop from their shops for stuff your shop may not have.
The AI definatly uses the lower/raise land. I was building a land bridge across a lake because an AI had blocked a narrow path with a tower. I needed a shorter way around and had extra man to spare. It needed one more raise land to finish but I was conserving mana and when I went back one of the AI's had finished it for me. I guess he was also mad at the AI that blocked the path with the tower .. or maybe he
I can confirm that I've seen the Monsters destroy computer held towns and I can also confirm that the AI does not build near monster spawns. The later I know full well because I often send my main team into AI territory to clear monsters for xp they immediatly build an outpost on any resources near these cleared monster spawns. This tell me they wouldn't build there previously because of the monster hut. I now follow my xp farming team with pioneers to grab resources bef
That's why it's good to put on autosave and change it to like every 2 turns. I have defied so many game stopping bugs like this that the "game crash gods" must be furious at me. I'm expecting soon I will crash so hard the screen will also burst into flames. :D
Hmm I always thought the way this works was good. If you build in a straight line following roads it makes it very easy to move your main team around to respond to threats when needed.
OMG it is me..just started a new game and same problem. I was so sure it was game related..lol.
This randomness in the quests is pretty good I think. Imagine they were all always the same. It would be boring. This randomness makes them a tad more interesting. I especially like that tempel quest where occasionally 10 golems spawn above.
My latest game the sound keeps cutting in and out. I wasnt sure at first if it was my speakers or their connection so I tried headphones and same thing. So it must be some new game bug I'm encountering. The only thing different in this game from others is the map has a lot of water. I started it random generated and there are distinct land bridges cutting up the map into clear sections. I was able to figure this out early on so I placed one unit on guard on ea
What I do is build up money making by rushing to Economics and the Vault World achievemnet. Then when money is flowing I"Rush" build units, and use queue just to build next thing. It kind of works. I fall behind sometimes on global power positioning so I try not to explore too much and encounter other factions until I'm making units. It's much easier with Empire and all the Wild animal units.
No I've seen the freeze too that you mention. Sometimes it even stranger stuff like your town is full so your guy cant walk through it. It's always something if you look hard. Though sometimes you cant find why it's frozen and have to reload. So I'm of the mind that it something out there in the fog of war even when I can't find it and have to reload. The game needs to lock some spaces per city as hidden. So like they there but you cant st
So what is a Monster's area? Is it a 5 by 5 box like an ootpost with their lair center? It seems like if you pass nearby them they get triggered so just a 3 by 3 area. Sometimes it feels like the enemy factions trigger them but they attack you. It could also be caravans triggering them. I've learnt now to stay far away. As fas as Master Scout , that sound really awesome. Never realised it was so powerful. The more I play the more things surprise me. Yesterday I sta
Yep interesting because in that other game with the stuck hero in my town I had a white red x box too. So it seems when you beat someone what happens is their leader gets frozen.
I was playing Oracle Caresa and was at war with Lord Reliad and Altar. I noticed the "Request Surrender" options in diplomacy so I pushed him hard enough to accept. Upon his surrender his remaining cities self razed themsleves and all his Heroes/armies quit but Lord Relias did join me as a Hero. He was also white box with teh red X frozen at start and I got him moving with Explore at first. Then took control later. He also wasnt on my scroll bar as one of my units. So a whole serie
I have to try this Tremor Spell :)
Great post, just wanted to say you can rename both heroes and cities.. it's under the additional commands. The little up and down arrows on the Hero or Town information pane. It's kind of clunky and probobly could use a redesign of the UI. Also there are these little + and - by the hero/town/quest scroll . If you click them it colapses and expands the whole list. Even with those it does get a little spastic when you have too many heroes or towns. <
It happens when an enemy faction is in the spot you are moving to that you don't have war with. It waits for the spot to clear before moving you. So let's say you want to head out somewhere 15 spots away and clicked there. Then a caravan moves into that spot. Your guy starts moving in place until the caravan moves or I guess skips it's turn. What you can do when that happens is select your guy, click back on him to cancel movement, and then click somewhere more near to you s
In a situation where many factors affect your relationship with a faction and many enemies are alive a scroll bar appears on the Foreign Policy column of Foreign Relations. The scroll does not scroll. I'm playing in 1054 x 512 resolution which is what game defaulted me to.
I started casting the Spell outside of influence area. NPC is at peace with me but because a resouce is nearby builds an outpost near me and places me in his influence. Non-aggresion pact ends and he asks me to leave. I leave and game moves me though normally quest does not allow you to move while casting. Spell continues to tick down to 25 turns but game doesnt end. I simultaneously research Dances with Dragons(which needed 20 turns to complete ) in case Magic tree needed to be maxed a
I clear area but no town is buildable because npc has built a town on its border so 9 tile rule is in effect. I had to attack npc faction and raze his city to be able to complete quest. Not sure if this is a bug as there is a work around. Just figured I'd write it up in case you didnt intend this as it doesnt entirely make sence to capture a built city and raze it just to start a new though I guess the quest completion does give you access to significant resources.
Delin's stack leaves quest area and attacks my town. I freeze stack and in battle Delin doesnt spawn though when inspecting the incoming stack he was there. I win battle and I get the city enchanement which I place on my starting city as the cost is zero prestige. Delin is marked as dead in the after battle summary though I never fought him. I subsequently enter quest area which is still colored as a quest. I clear all stacks but Delin wasnt there either. Quest is st
First off not certain if I'm suppose to load the save files to drop box. Will keep this file to upload if needed. I enountered a solo enemy Hero outisde final town so I attaked and auto-resolved. I think same turn, I attacked final town and won. Faction is destroyed but his Hero is in my town incapacitated for rest of the game. Strangely near the town I also had the white square with the red x that shows up when you are casting Spell of Remakin
My save file corrupted so I restarted on an old save about 50 turns back. Thing was I had an axe with the Maul ability. So I wanted it back and killed a monster spawn then proceeded to save load to keep getting new loot items in pursuit of this axe. Well in teh process if you equip the items as you get them and reload ceratain items will cause the subsequnet reload to hang the game. Not entirely certain the specific items cause the hang but within 10 reloads the game is hung. I though
